Not long after Johnson appeared, looking nervously behind him at Maik, who was following him.
"Keep an eye on him will you?" Maik whispered I'll be outside if you need me.
"You're leaving?" Elrohir asked, startled "But this is important!"
Maik shrugged "I know, but I'm waiting for something."
"waiting for what?" Elrohir asked, but Maik was already leaving and pretended that she hadn't heard him.
"Go ahead Johnson." She called over her shoulder
Elrohir leaned against the wall, wathcing Johnson. Johnson wasn't scared of him, but he was scared of Maik, and she was never far from Elrohir. So Johnson thought it was best not to do anything that Elrohir wouldn't approve of. Johnson cleared his throat and began his questioning. He aimed his questions at Descartes first.
Johnson screamed in pain and threw Descartes away from him, sending him into the wall opposite. Elrohir's stomach twinged with fear. This was going to explode any moment. And it did. The door flew open, and Johnson suddenly went very pale in fear just before he was picked up and pinned against the wall by a massive layer of ice.
"Did I not give you EXPLICIT instructions as to how you were supposed to conduct this interrrigation?" Maik's voice roared. She looked over at Sonia, and noticing her eyes seemed a little aback. "Calm down. And sit down, please." She surveyed the room with obvious fury and suddenly noticed Descartes. She walked over and offered her hand to him. "Are you allright?"
Descartes winced slightly waiting for her to hit him. After a second or two he reopened his eyes and looking at Maik, took her hand. "Thank you." he said softly.
Sonia looked away. She didn't mean to loose it. Really, she didn't. SHe and Descartes were just really close and seeing someone hurt him pissed her off. Especially when it was suppose to be some damned aurorer.
"You're welcome." Maik replied, the smallest hint of a smile on her lips. As she reached the door a man burst in, gasping for breath and held out a note to Maik. "Mrs. Fingon! Urgent message for you!"
Maik took the note and read it and suddenly turned very pale. "He's back." She shoved past the messenger and ran from the room, leaving Elrohir confused and slightly worried.
Elrohir rubbed his forehead and tried to gather his thoughts. Where to bagin... "Do ANY of you know what became of that letter?" He looked at each of them in turn, his gaze resting on Mr. Hubert for a moment. There was only a slim chance that any of them would tell him anything, but perhaps the two older Huberts could verify something. The only problem was that Maik would kill him is she knew he had asked them.
Morgan stared blankly where the foursome had been standing a short while ago. she shook her head to clear her vision, which was becoming foggy. "Damn, tears." she hissed softly, angry at herself for not being able to help. she had to know about the letter. Morgan pulled out her wand, swong it in a large arc so that an archway of aquamarine light shone before her. "This is kinda going out on a limb, but it should work." She muttered, then spoke four names clearly into the night. they were sucked into the archway, and soon a room was shown, like looking through a window. "Here goes." Morgan whispered, then walked through.
