(((Sorry 'bout that. I'm sort of new to this. 😮 )))
"Well." Caroline said. "Then better tell the lady at the counter that." then she turned to look at Elrohir. "And if you really want to know I'm here to see an old friend of mine and I was hoping he'd be here. so if you don't mind I'll be going now." I know I'm being stupid in lying to them, but I have no other choice. I want to learn a little more about the whole murdering thing with those guys parents involved and all. Caroline thought.
(((I forgot to add one more thing, and it was too late to edit. Sorry.)))
How could I forget? Caroline thought. He was the only redhead I knew who didn't ever have freckles. He was also the only guy I ever had a crush on. Caroline looked at Max. she thought she saw him wink at her when nobody was looking. she smiled.
"By the way." Caroline asked in a whisper. "What the heck are you doing here? "
"I work here. " Max replied.
"Really? " Caroline asked, her eyebrows raised. "What department? "
"Never mind about that, now." Max replied. "If you won't tell me anything about yourself, right now, then I have the same rights as you not to tell, either." he then looked over to where Maik and Elrohir were busy discussing who the deatheater was.
"Do you think they'll let us leave, yet? " Caroline asked.
"I don't know. Max whispered. "Let me go ask. " he then went over to Elrohir and, butting in to his and Maik's discussion, asked, "Um, Sir. sorry to interrupt your little chat with miss Fingon. But, you wouldn't mind if Caroline and I leave, would you?"
"Oops, sorry, Mrs. Fingon." Max said, politely. "Well you see, I work at the Department of Mysteries. I'm pretty new, so not everyone around here's met me. I get kind of nervous when I'm up there too long. I usually come down here to get a breath of fresh air. I didn't know what it was like to be an unspeakable until I took the job around a year ago. And I must say, it's tough." Caroline then came over.
"Your an unspeakable?" she asked, sounding amazed.
"Yeah." Max replied, looking over at her. Somehow, Caroline had figured that. Max did tend to be mysterious a lot of times in Hogwarts. Max then returned his attention to Elrohir and Maik. "So. Can Caroline and I go now?"
"Thank you, sir" Max said. Max then turned to Caroline. "Come on Caroline. " They started to walk away. Max looked over at the four people. "One question, though. " he asked. "Who are they? "
"Well, I know one of them. " Caroline replied. "The tall girl with the long brown hair is named Morgan. "
"You know her? " Max asked.
"Yes." Caroline replied. "And you don't have to whisper anymore. You always make yourself mysterious when you do that. Then again, I do like mysterious guys like you..." She then started to giggle. "...Maximus." Max started to blush.
"you're embarrassing me, Caroline." Max said.
"What's so embarrassing, Maximus? Don't like your full name?" Caroline asked, still laughing.
"I HATE that name." Max replied. "Call me Max. Not Maximus."
"Okay. How 'bout Maxy?" Caroline asked, trying to hold in her laughter. Max started to blush even more.
"Very funny." Max said, sarcastically. "Could you at least call me those names until after we're not in public?"
"Sorry." Caroline replied. "I just find it hard not to tease people. I tease all my friends, in a nice way, of course. Now let's go, Ax May."
"Ah." Max said. he then started to laugh, himself. "Pig Latin."
