Maik pulled a pocket watch out of her robes and glared at it. "It's late. I'm going to head home." She nodded to Caroline and Max "Good night"
"What am I supposed to do with him?" Elrohir asked, pointing to the dead death eater. Maik regarded him for a moment, then replied that she didn't care.

"Talk about Disregarding dead people " Max whispered to Caroline after Maik left. Caroline tried to hold in a laugh. "So, why are you here, Caroline? "
"I'll tell you in private, Max. " Caroline muttered. "As in away from Elrohir and the rest.
"Oh." Max replied. "Okay."

"Not polite to whisper." Elrohir remarked. "Care to share with the rest of us?"

"we said, um..." Max said. "That we are planning a... surprise party! Yeah, for one of my buddies back at home."
"We are?" Caroline said in confusion. Max then steps on her foot on purpose, when nobody's noticing. "Oh, yeah we are. That's why we've been whispering. Plus, Max is an unspeakable, and that's what he seems to do, a lot, is whisper. so we'll just be going now. bye!" Caroline and Max then turned and walked away.

Elrohir cocked an eyebrow in confusion, but didn't pursue the matter. At the moment he was more concerned about getting rid of the dead death eater. Even if Caroline and Max were up to something, which he figured they were, it probably wasn't anything he needed to worry about or get Maik involved in.

"That was close." Caroline said, still walking.
"Yeah." Max replied. "But Elrohir seems to be gaining a suspicion about us. He probably thinks we murdered someone or something."
"Yeah, well. That's the least of my worries at the moment." Caroline muttered.
"What the heck's that supposed to mean?" Max asked in disbelief.
"None of your business, Maxy." Caroline answered starting to move a little faster.
"And you say I'M mysterious." Max muttered.
"Well, you are!" Caroline replied.
"Yeah, but you can be worse! You're Spider-Man mysterious! Speaking of which, do you still read those things that muggles like to call comicbooks?"
"Yeah, I do." Caroline answered. "But, seriously, Max. What the heck does Spider-Man mysterious mean?"
"You know. How he keeps too many secrets. That's kind of what you do at times. Sort of." Caroline rolled her eyes.
"Yeah, but I don't go around in colorful tights fighting crime, calling myself Spider-Lady or something goofy like that."
"Hm. you got a point." Max replied.
"Max, don't worry. I'm not keeping any secrets from you." Caroline told him, putting a hand on his shoulder.
"And I'm supposed to know that... How?" Max asked in confusion. "I mean... you still haven't explained to me what you're doing here." Caroline then turned away from Max and continued to walk.
"I'll tell you later." she replied.
"Of course!" Max said, following right behind her. "You'll tell me later. How did I know you were going to say that!"

"How does one dispose of a dead death eater?" Elrohir thought to himself. "And what is Caroline REALLY up to anyway?" He kicked at the death eater absently. The piece of ice in his chest hadn't melted. One of Maik's weirder talents.

"I don't understand why you won't tell me what's up." Max said in disbelief. "I told you where I work."
"Yeah, but you also told Elrohir and Maik, so it's really not a secret." Caroline answered.
"Hey! as an unspeakable, I have my own little secrets." Max replied. "And I'll tell you some of them if you tell me what's going on."
"I really don't care, Max. And personally, I don't completely trust you with my secret yet."
"excuse me." a man said from behind them. "But where do you two think you're going?" Caroline and Max turned around to face a man who had to be at least 6 feet tall, and seemed to be bulging with muscles. Max didn't know what it was that made him think so, but something just wasn't right about this guy.
"Um." Max said. "We were... trying to find the exit! Yeah."
"Do you expect me to believe that?" the man said in incredulity.
"Uh. Kind of?" Max replied.
"boy, you're a dead man, Max." The man replied.
"Hey look! What's that?" Max said pointing behind the man. the man turned around to see what it was.
When the man saw nothing he slowly looked back at Max saying, "There's nothing there, you..." but before the man could finish his sentence, Max had thrown his fist at the man's face. the man fell to the ground, unconscious. everyone around Max and Caroline made small shrieks
"hm. Not as tough as he looks." Max muttered, bending down and observing the man.
"Why did you punch him?" Caroline asked in surprise.
"because he's a death eater." Max replied. "See?" Max had showed caroline the man's left wrist. there was a tattoo that looked like the Dark Mark. "The sign of the enemy." Max muttered.
"You just took the aurors' job, Max." Caroline joked.
"Hey!" Max said. "I can proect myself if I need to." he then then got up from his bent position.
"Why was he after you?" Caroline asked. Max then smirked in a sly manner.
"I'll tell you later." he replied. "Come on! Let's get out of here before this guy wakes up." Max started to walk away.
"Shouldn't we go tell the aurors?" Caroline asked, following him.
"It would take too long." Max replied. "Just hope that an auror will come by and notice him. otherwise, it's best that we not take any risks and just get out of here while we have the chance"

"Mr. Celebrian! Come quickly!"
Elrohir looked up and saw an auror running towards him looking very upset about something.
"What's the matter?" Elrohir asked "What's happened?"
The auror stopped and gasped for breath. "We found..a death eater..lying in the hallway."
Now how could that have happened? Maik had gone home, so it couldn't be her fault. Elrohir quickly followed the auror to where the death eater was, and was just regaining conciousness.
"Inform my sister of this." Elrohir instructed the auror "And find Caroline and Max."

"Max! will you slow down!" Caroline said, trying to catch up to Max. He was moving at an amazing speed since they left the phonebooth.
"No! You should be speeding up!" Max replied.
"Max! What's the matter!" Caroline asked. Max stopped and looked over at Caroline.
"You want to know what's the matter? The death eaters are after us, that's what's the matter!" Max replied.
"Why would they be after us?" Caroline asked.
"Because they want me dead!" Max shouted in anger. "They want me, and anyone I hang around with dead!"
"But why?" Caroline asked.
"Because they just do! Okay! The Corruptor won't rest until he sees me flat on the floor, pale as a ghost, with my mouth sprawled open!"
"The Corruptor?" Caroline asked in astonishment "Who's the Corruptor?"
"He's one of You-Know-Who's right hand men! And he's probably the most unheard of, too! His mask is unlike the other deatheater's mask. It's completely black and there's nothing special about it, and it's shapeless. you can't even see his eyes. he doesn't even look like he has eye pieces to see out of, either. As a matter of fact, his costume covers every inch of his body. you can't see a trace of skin. No one knows who the Corruptor really is! many haven't even heard of him, not even the aurors. and now he's sending death eaters after me, because he wants me dead! He's been wanting to kill me for a year now, after what I had done to him."
"What did you do?" Caroline asked.
"I'm not telling you anything more than that." Max replied. "Now quickly. we got to keep walking." they continued to move quickly.
"Why didn't you become an auror instead?" Caroline asked.
"It would have been too risky." Max replied. "Besides, my grades were not good enough for it. And being an unspeakable sounded like something I'd do. I kept that thing I just told you a secret for a long time. as a matter of fact, you're the first person I'd ever told that to."
This makes me wonder how many more secrets he's hiding from me. Caroline thought.

"The Corruptor is after you? My, you're more foolish than I thought, getting involved with him." Maik's voice cut in throught the darkness. "Perhaps the two of you can explain why I have been called back to the ministry and why there is a death eater lying in the hallway?"
She stood glaring at the two of them and blocking their path. Her night hadn't been terribly pleasant, and they weren't making it any better.

oh, effin joy, where's Sonia and Descartes and their parents and what's happening to them?

(i really don't know, things have gotten weird.)

Sonia knelt beside the corpse and gently brushed her fingertips over its cheek. WIth a loud gasp she fell to the floor and began to convulse.

"Sonia!"
Elrohir ran to where she had fallen. "Sonia! Are you allright?"
He called over his shoulder for help as he tried to calm her.

Sonia's eyes were slowly becoming completely black. Her convulsing was slowly become less and less untill she became completely still.

"I. . .Is she alright?" Descartes asked. "I mean, alive?"

Elrohir stutterd in panic "I don't know! She's your sister!" He reached over and checked her pulse, not knowing what else to do. "Even Maik's eyes haven't done that.Well, they did it once, but that was differant." He looked up at Descartes "Has this ever happened before?"

Descartes froze checking every last memory he could muster. "Nevr."

"Not to her, but my brother." her mother started. "He did it once. He blacked out and when he woke about five minutes later he couldn't remember anything."

Sonia stirred lightly at Elrohir's touch almost as if it had shocked her.

"Maybe we should take her to St. Mungo's." Elrohir suggested. Fear was tying his stomach in knots as he tried to figue this out. What was going on here?

Sonia blinked a few times as her eyes returned to normal. She groan slightly before asking where she was.
