"The ministry. DOn't you remember?" Elrohir asked nervously. "We need to get her to St. Mungo's." he said over his shoulder to Descartes

"OH yes, wait, are my parents okay? Nothing happened right?" she asked sitting up.

"ARe you sure. Isn't that for insane people?" Descartes asked.

back at where Max, Caroline, and Maik were :

"Oh great." Max said in annoyance. "What are you doing here?"
Caroline stared at Maik with frustration. How dare she listen into other people's private business. Caroline thought. "Yeah, And how long have you been following us?" Caroline said in an angry tone.

Elrohir smiled slightly "Unless you consider Maik insane, no."

"Follow you? Wouldn't dream of it." Maik said, smiling in her disconcerting way. "As I said, I'm on my way to the ministry. Why are you so concerned that I'm here? Hiding something, are we?"

"I'm fine. I don't need to go anywhere." SOnia insisted.

"You collapsed! How can you be fine?" Elrohir demanded. He looked at Descartes for support.

"No" Max said, calmly. "I'm not hiding anything." Caroline, on the other hand wasn't being as calm as Max was.
"Why did you guys come looking for us just because you see a death eater on the ground, unconscious!?" Caroline said, angrily. "You guys are acting like we killed someone! You guys should be awarding Max for stopping that guy, not questioning him!"
Max put a hand on Caroline's shoulder, and calmly said, "Caroline. calm down." Caroline slowly started to calm down. Max then looked over at Maik and said, "If you really want to know why there was a death eater lying in the middle of the hallway, it was my doing. I punched the man in the face. I didn't want any harm to come to Caroline or anyone else."

" How noble." maik said drily. " And after you did this wonderful thing for the benefit of society, you ran away and didn't tell anyone. Doesn't that seem slightly odd to you?"

Descartes nodded. "Sonia, He's right. Please, listen."

Sonia sighed and looked at her parents who nodded. "Okay, I'll go, I guess."

Oh great. Max thought. What am I supposed to tell her? The truth? oh yeah, telling her that I sensed another death eater was spying on me in the Ministry of Magic for the corruptor would be a wonderful idea. The only good that'll do me is getting more attention, and I don't want more attention. plus, word gets out, and everyone who knows will be in a lot of danger. I got to think of something else to say.
"I didn't want to take the credit for it." Max replied, still sounding very calm.

Maik just blinked. "I don't know who taught you to act, but you should ask for your money back." She glared down at the two of them, rapidly losing patience. "Why don't you tell me what's really going on before I get angry with you?" As proof of this, her eyes were already turning a dark shade of red.

Elrohir smiled gratefully at Descartes and his parents then held his hand out to Sonia to help her up. "You'll be out in no time, I promise."

"Whoa." Max joked, after seeing Maik's eyes. "I think you might need to get some more sleep. Your eyes look shot."
"Max! " Caroline whispered, sincerely. "This is not something to joke about. Just tell her the truth. though, I have no idea what the truth about you really is."
"Fine." Max said. But I'm not going to use the word 'sensed'. he thought to himself. "I saw a death eater staring at us nearby. He seemed to be spying on us. and I wanted to get out of there, because I knew it was trouble."

"Better be." Sonia muttered. "Or you owe me a smoothie."

Elrohir laughed and pulled her to her feet. "And if nothing goes wrong you owe ME a smoothie. Deal?"

"You should watch your mouth max, or it'll get you in trouble." Maik snarled. "Are you trying to tell me that in a building full of aurors you couldn't find ONE and ask for help?"

Oh, yeah. That would be real smart. Max thought. Get the aurors involved with this would just make matters even worse.
"Well, you see. there was a... disturbance." Max said. That was all that he could think of saying.

Sonia blushed and nodded.

"A disturbance. What sort of disturbance." Maik asked. He wasn't doing a very good job of convincing her of anything.

They walked to St. Mungo's where Elrohir had a quick conversation with one of the healers.

"Well..." Max said. Got to think of something. Max thought. "You see... it's very secretive stuff. You know, unspeakable stuff. and ah..." he then looked over and saw a death eater on the other side of the street. Oh great. more of them. suddenly, they heard an explosion in the distance.
"What was that?" Caroline asked in surprise, looking behind.
"I have no idea." Max replied, staring in the same direction as Caroline. they then both turned to look at Maik. "So are you just going to stand here...?" Max asked Maik. "Or are you going to go check it out?" he then cautiously looked back to where the death eater was. he seemed to be smirking slyly.

Sonia looked like a caged animal as if someone was going to jump out and kill her.

Elrohir walked back to Sonia and the others. "That healer's going to have a look at you, make sure you're all right." He watched Sonia carefully, worried. "You want Descartes or someone to go with you?"

" I don't know what all this trouble is about, but i'm sure it's your fault. Maik glared at Max then turned and walked towards the death eater. She didn't know if he recognized her, but he'd figure out who she was pretty fast. "Lumos!" the alleyway filled with light and Maik pointed her wand threateningly at the death eater.
