"Well, since you asked so nicely..." Maik smiled. "I guess I could spare a few minutes for you."

"Thank you, Maik." Descartes says leading her inside.

"So what is it you do in your spare time?" Maik asked him

"Um, read, try out new spells. . .boring stuff like that."

"That doesn't sound too boring."

"Compared to what you probably do in your free time" he points to her motorcycle as he spoke. "It seems to be."

Maik laughed. "Well, when you compare it to my motorcycle, of course it sounds boring!"

Descartes laughed softly leading Mais inside. "So what would you like?"

Maik thought it over for a moment. "Mulled mead if you have any, please."

Descartes nodded. "I'll be right back. Feel free to browse the library." which just happened to be on Maik's right.

"Thank you." Maik said, wandering into the library.

Selena was sitting at her drawing table. She looked up and smiled sweetly at Maik. "Hello, dear."

Maik stopped short and raised a hand in greeting. "Hello. Are you Mrs. Hubert?"

"Yes, dear, I am." Selena said standing up. Walking atround the drawing desk she walked towards Maik. "You must be Maik?" She says daintily holding her petite hand out for her to shake.

"Yes, I am." Maik replied, taking Mrs. Hubert's hand and half wondering if she'd break it if she gripped to hard.

Selena smiled. "Appearances can be deceiving, dear."

"That they can." Maik agreed. She glanced around the room, feeling slightly awkward and not knowing what else to do.

"WOuld you like to see my new designs for some dresses?" Selena asked smiling warmly. She knew that this young lady was the one her son was swooning over. She already felt she owed Maik her life. That was a lot. A slytherin to repy a life debt to a gryffindor (I think she was at least.)

"Sure." Maik lied. She didn't want to be rude, since this was Descartes' mother after all and she being a Gryffindor had to be noble and all that.

Selena showed Maik the real extravagant designs for dresses and robes. "Of course I'm just an amateur."
