i wouldnt call it a sell out, because anderson really did care about the project and is a fan of the creatures, but i just dont think it will have what made these creatures so popular in the first place. I am still excited about the movie because the fact that the ***** sigourney weaver isnt in the film it has a chance to be somthing. She single handedly destroyed that franchise
Cameron was going to return for another alien installment on alien 3, but due to Weaver's partial ownership to the rights she demanded to have a hand in the script. this turned Cameron off the project. You wont see another Alien film for a long time outside of aliens Vs predator. Even if AvP does extremely well. Predator 3 will be comming very soon though, that you can pretty much gaurentee

The bishop in the film had nothing to do with the previous alien films, Anderson included this as an omage to the movies.
you know even after seeing this movie and having been severly dissapointed i am still trying to find ways to like it. I will admit though, it wasnt as bad as i thought it would be, but still failed in a sucessfull way
Anyone here seen the movie yet? I just saw it on friday, and the end is a little messed up...
My post is kinda... a half spoiler, so if you REALLY REALLY REALLY care about seeing every single point in the movie directly, dont bother reading it.
During the movie the alien laid an egg in Predator, even though they didnt show it, they still basically insinuated it by showing the spider jumping towards him after he had taken off his mask.
Well... At the end of the movie he of course dies and is put on that table thing... And this weird Thing comes out of him... Anyone know what it is or why it happened?
The only conclusions ive been able to draw out, is
An alien puts eggs in a human, It makes an Alien...
An Alien puts eggs in a predator... It makes a...???
also, could they have created the aliens SO the predators themselves could reproduce? Maybe that was how the predators reproduce also, and they used the aliens to do it maybe? Maybe thats just how the predators have to reproduce...
If anyone has any ideas what was up with that last part... post it here.

This movie made FVJ look like a masterpiece.
Two great franchises ruined by 20th Century Fox. I'm highly disappointed both as a movie goer and as fan of Alien and Predator. 🙁
i wouldnt say they were ruined. I mean the essence of the two franchise giants were there. When they were on screen they held a presence, but unfortunately we diddnt get much of that. The overall concept is great, but was ruined in it's execution. As for the woman, i diddnt like the actor or her character, but i liked the fact that Anderson attempted to team her up with the predator, it was right out of the comic book Aliens vs predator, and i believe that is why he did, for the fans. unfortunately the character's were terrible and the acting and script was nearly non existent. Howeve, this movie still diddnt totally fail, it had some fun scenes but i think the kindest thing i could say about this movie is that is was far better than alien resurection, but then again so is attack of the killer tomatoes.
and yeah dragon the final half hour was a giant cop-out. Anderson should have taken some more risks and tried to be a little more ruthless. Anderson played it safe becuase i think he was scared to make a dissapointment for the fans, in doing so he did. Aliens and predators are movies that are known for original stories and risk taking when you combine the two, you better have chalk full of both

What I meant to say by ruined is the future of both franchises. This film was suppose to revive audiences interest for both characters. If 20th Century was planning to make Predator 3 then AVP woulda boosted audiences interest into the Predator again. The way I see it, that if this film woulda been more adreline driven and suspenful as it's predecesors were....then more ppl would want more! Which is a perfect set up for Predator 3 (if sucha idea was ever conjured). The action wasn't bad nor the fight scenes were bad the problem was that they were too short.
Yes, the film had it's moments as for example when the archeologist is explaining why the temple was built for. We get a great scene of Aliens fighting the Predators in war to control the temple.That's exactly what this film should have been! A war between the Aliens and The Predators. What we got was the Aftermath of the war thousans of years later between 3 predators and a few Aliens, plus a group of humans that should have been wiped out completely.
It was ok. not enough fighting between the Alien's and predators though. You dont call it alien VS Predator if they only fight like one real time, and the rest just kinda throw stuff and shoot at each other. They should have had maybe an hour of the film devoted to just plain fighting, not all at once, but an hour out of the entire film should just had have fighting in it. That bullshit at the beggining took up alot of time. Its like, Alien VS Predator. Sum it up for about 5 minutes, and get to the fighting.
