BackFire
Blood. It's nature's lube
Yes, I saw all those warning signs, but I still managed to think, after being in development for nearly 10 years, that they would have managed to make a plausable and more dark, eerie setting that would have fit both of the icons better then the silly under ground pyramid with moving walls and blocks.
Also, this movie was SLOOOOOOOW. The first half went on forever. No one wanted a storyline in this movie, people wanted hardcore fight scenes, not some poor dialogue and pointless characters in an attempt to make us forget that we went to see this film for Alien vs Predator action, not character. They tried way way too hard to have both in this movie, and they failed.
Now, when the film finally did pick up, it felt rushed and forced. Everything happened way to fast, and felt like it went from a 45 minute long opening, introduction scene, straight to the climax without much in between. It would have been sooooo easy to please fans with a film like this.... Here's how...
-An R rating: Come on, when you combine two series of films that have had R ratings for all of their instalments, this is just simple logic.
-Kill off ALL humans in the first 30 minutes, and have major fights between the Aliens vs Predators. Also, some nudity would have helped.
-Needed A LOT more Aliens and Predators. It's a bad sign when the best scene in the film is a flash back scene that lasts 10 seconds. It's no surprise that this is the scene they slammed down our throats in the previews, it made it seem like this is what most of the film would be like - A shit load of Aliens fighting against super powerful predators. They KNEW this is what people wanted, and rather then giving us that, they tricked us into thinking it would be that way, but not living up to it.
-Show predators have sex with female Predators: Dude, this just would have been for comic relief, something the film sorely needed.
They needed to take a note from FvJ, that had all the right attributes, it was funny, action packed, gory, had nudity, and ultimately satisfying because of all of this. AvP had nothing going for it, except some misleading previews and two icons that seemed near impossible to screw up in a vs movie. But they managed to somehow do it.
