First of all: As far as purely PHYSICAL strength we're pretty close. Both able to press over head 90+ tons range. I've never personally seen anything saying Colossus is now a 100+ tons range character. (Per The Marvel directory which used stats from 2001 I was rated at 85 tons and Colossus was rated at 70 tons.) Over the last 3 or 4 years we've both gotten stronger. But Whats a a couple of tons between friends. We'll call it a hand grenade.

Now when you think of strength you've also got to MENTAL strength which is almost dare i say even more important than being able to PHYSICALLY lift an item off of the ground. (I.E. Wonder man any version. PHYSICALLY was rated in the 100 ton range...But MENTALLY he was at about 1 ton. He had no MENTAL toughness, no fortitude, no want to, no never say uncle. he was very weak minded.) And i am ABSOLUTELY not saying that Colossus is at all weak minded. But he is not now nor will probably ever be part of having the same strain of MENTAL toughness that The Ever-Lovin Blue Eyed Thing has always had. Just ask the Champion. As far as fighting styles: I can only speak for yours truly I've been trained by some of the best. First of all grown up on the streets of New York literally, joining the Yancy Street Gang at a young age i soon worked my way up to be the leader of pack. And it was only done with blood, sweat, and more blood. Back in my day the only guns we used were attached to our shoulders and had knuckles at the other ends of them. Later on, i went into the military and learned to become an expert in hand to hand combat. Where along the way in working for Uncle Sam i ran with Old Logan himself for a short period of time, where we both learned a few lessons from each other. I Later became well versed in the arts of Judo, Wrestling, and everybody's favorite Submission holds. People say that I'm a brawler, sure if thats all it takes to get it done I'll brawl. But i've got some more in my bag too.
IMO: 1 more for me.

As far as the smarts department, I like to think that I'm just a little East coast, i sound dumb. But being a highly skilled USAF test pilot and a full fledged astronaut. I definitely needed a some noodles for those two titles believe you me. And if you were to ask the people who are in the know, most would say that I'm arguably the best pilot in the Marvel Universe of both earthy and unearthly crafts. So I'm not as dumb as i let you think that i am. As far as Colossus is concerned he's no dummy, but I'm not sure he's got what i've got. And believe me I'm surly not anywhere near being in Mr. Big Brains class. (Reed) But heck no other humanoid that i've ever met is.
IMO:I've got more of a melon full too.

P.S. By the way if comes down to using weaponry in this fight i've used some of the worlds best, with all of the things that Reed comes up with on an hourly basis it's hard not to be able to hold your own in a gun fight.
Well sorry Colossus it's not a shutout, but my E.R.A. is still pretty CY Young if you ask me.

ok affter reading the fourm here is my opinon. firstly i would like to refer to piotrs first aperence in giant sized xmen where he jumped from the xmens black bird. falling onto the ground and then getting back up again. i am not going to get into the argument about stats at its pointless as this is a comic after all and if dazlller can beat galatcius anything i possible. what i would like to draw your attnetion to is that the arena for this battle has not cleatly been define. i imagine that in an enclosed space where movement is restricted then colosus speed wont realy do mutch for him. however in wide spces where colossus can use the full extent of his brain then he will be able to use his skills to full advantage.
also i would like to point out that from as far as i can tell x-men do alot more training then the fantastic four whom are more concered with there family life.
i would like to also point out that colousus was supposed to have died from the legacy virus, the result of which been that mutant powers where increase to astonishing levels. (even though he didnt die from that acording to asonishing xmen : shudders as he hates that comic: ) i would like to point out that we dont know the full extent of the reintrodused colossus powers, or if there has been any lasting effects from the legacy virus... or if any freaky shit happerned to him in space🙂
how i personaly seeing this match is that the thing whom does not have ever seemed to ever changed his style would just start brawling. colossus would dodge the initial blows and then perhaps counter strikeing him in his back
oh and another thing in terms of durability how durable is he.. i mean it obvious he can suruvuve bullets and perhaps abit of throwing. but can he realy stand up to the same extreme levels of getting thrown around as the colosus.
also i would like to point out that in one of the classic x men vs fantastic four arcs i seem to remember that the wrighters chose not to have a conflcit between the two as the results would be so indesisive. ( as i remember colosusus was unable to move at the time) is this realy an act of continuity or was it a device used by the wrighters to avoid makeing a very trocky dection?
Colossus has this one. Both of them are almost exactly even when it comes to strength. They are both at Class 100 Strength Level right now. So strength is even.
Colossus has more speed and agility.
Thing knows how to brawl.
Colossus has just about as much fighting experience as Thing.
Thing has blue eyes.
Colossus also knows how to fight via training from Wolverine and Cyclops.
Thing's last name is Grimm.
Colossus can take much more extremes of temperature than Thing.
Thing is orange.
Colossus is also so much more durable than Thing.
Thing likes to fly.
Both of them have the heart.
But Colossus has this match after a year of figthing. Yes, one full year of an insane power battle.
