Tpt> Where did energy come from? Do you mean originally? Big Bang!
You have to kinds of “thing” in the Universe. Matter (you, men, planets, stars, dust) and energy (which tells the matter how to behave). If you look CLOSELY, you’ll see that the forces of nature are carried by tiny particles themselves… and they are a result of Big Bang.
(I know I know. We work on quantising gravity. WHEN we do, we’ll be able to get back to time 00:00 and maybe get a glimpse of how it all began for real).
Did it help?
Or… ?

Capt> I played a roleplaying game called World of Darkness in the 90’s. LARP (Live Roleplaying). MiB=Men in Black.

Lana> No, it’s been a while since the Universe allowed me to sit down and look at what happens at KMC. You were Silver the last time I popped by. But it’s all cool now.
And, no. Most creationists won’t debate with a group, or even a scientists. I suppose deep down they know their arguments won’t stand the test –

Adam> Ah! Now it makes sense. Of course…

Lana, WoD, thats the technocracy and Vamp games right?
If thats it, yea those are cool, and you should jin ours, Tons O' FUn!

You become more and more fascinating the more I learn about you.

Yep. I even did a Vampire LARP a few years ago....was tons of fun, though at the time I had no idea what Vampire was 😂 Scared the hell out of me, though, it was outside late at night and I always get freaked out outside at night 😮

Oh yeah, forgot to mention this....earlier my brother was doing biology homework and it was about evolution, and he was complaining to me that searching for evolution on google was only getting him creationist sites. So I showed him this thread (telling him to pay special attention to your posts, TO)...when he finished his work (having found all the info he could ever wish for), he said "Wow, you weren't kidding when you said that this thread had a ton of info" and said that we should write a book 😄

so wat r we disucussin now?

Nehhh, you guys are all stupid.

Everyone knows the world is 12,000 years old and God put dinosaur fossils here to test our faith.

Pfft.

Capt> Why, thank you! But did you get an answer you could use in regards to energy?

Lana> 😆 Well, we could just compile the gigazillion pages we have here and publish them in bookform... We've chased so many Creationists away by now, we’ve countered every single argument they can come up with…

AC> 😛

It's been a while, you'll have to remind me what energy has to do with anything.

can u imagine a book with everyone's name here listed under the authors...
lol
there could be books on everything from science, to philosophy, comp help, comics, dvd buying,...we could make millions! lmao

Stupid fundis.
"Everyone knows that the earth is flat, the sun revolves around the earth"
Yep, Evolution is just a theory... like gravity. Wanna test that, just step off this ledge and do the world a favor. 😈

Well, evolution IS a theory, and if I'm not mistaken, gravity is actually a law... 😬 Though no matter how well-proven a theory is, it can never become a law, they're two different things. That's how my middle school chemistry teacher explained it anyways 😛

TO> Good to see yeh back 😄

but at least scientists admit they can be wrong 😉

indeed...scientific opinion changes as evidence is found and theories tested and retested

where as religious belief never much seems to alter regardless of what is put in front of them

The original!
post here!

Need to bump this back up again.....

Wewt 😊

Creationism, and evolution and the big bang theory aren't necessarily incompatible. Creationists claim that God created the universe in 7 days. But a day according to what time-scale? God's? Who knows how long a day in the life of God is? The incapacity of religious zealots to see beyond the literal never ceases to amaze me.

Why don't you just acknowledge that neither science nore religion can explain definitively why the universe exists. Science has proposed many theories, each with a lot of reasonable evidence to support them, but has no real proof of anything. Creationism believes in a creator that created everything, but why hold on to the myopic dogma that everything was created as is and that nothing ever changes. Can't you accept that perhaps the big bang was divinely induced, but God chose to allow things to develop on their own since then?

If you insist on taking a literal interpretation of the Bible, then your version of God didn't expect very much from you, did He?

and who can say what parts of the bible are to be taken literal and which not?

Exactly. Everyone should make up their own minds about that, not take the word of some old pedant who's never read a scientific journal in his life, and frankly couldn't handle concepts more complex than his left nostril.
