evolution

I believe in evolution. I think that when we evolve again which will be some time from now, we will become stronger both physically & mentally. There are a lot of people who work out now adays & if someone is at their peak, their baby will be born & will also develop into a strong human being (of course this is what I believe, some of you may disagree but if I am wrong tell me why). So I say the more humans that work out & have kids, the stronger we'll become. Although that dude that said humans are getting weaker than stronger was right. I barely feel like working out, at least lately. I am strong compared to some other kids but I'm on a quest to be stronger & if all human beings would take the time to work out then we'd all be better as a whole. (I know, very cheesy indeed 😄)

The flaw there is that you can't pass aquired traits onto your offspring. Case and point: you always have to teach a child how to read, no matter how many generations of your family has known how to read.

Humans ARE getting weaker. Too much sitting at computers and not enough getting outside. That gives us larger brains however.

take that a step further...we develop bigger brains so need bigger heads..we need better sensory input to the brain...so the eyes get bigger

we develop the tchnology to live outwith our solar system so we lose skin pigmentation

the body gets smaller due to less need for physical work

large head with large eyes and a small body with grey skin...remind you of anything

haha awesome

Well... I read that too somewhere. That the human species might evolve to look like "aliens" 🙂
So, what? Stories of aliens are in reality our great great... grand-kids travelling back in time, to... ehrm... (-kicks self off to conspiracy thread-)

That's most unlikely...since what the human species looks like will never be alien ....well...except to aliens.....

I dunno. I've read the theory, and it makes the most sense, as far as these Aliens go. They look too much like us, body structure wise. I think it's the most likely explaination.

(Couldn't find conspiracy thread)

Oh okay...so you mean that the "Aliens" that "visit" are in fact a futher evolutionary stage of humans.....oh well..that makes sense..just as much as all the other theorries at least.....reminds me of this SUperman Comic...Red Son I think it was.

It doesn't remind me of Superman, but I know Aliens used to scare the hell out of me as a kid. Not the Sigourney Weaver brand, the skinny grey ones.

I'm not really commenting on Aliens, I just find it hard to believe that the Star Trek version of all aliens sharing teh basic human body structure is a bit out there. And I don't mean where no man has gone before.

Well, I mean since the Universe is pretty big it is pretty probable that there are Aliens having similar (or at least recognizable) structure to us. Also, we know that there can be life forms in our shape...

Also...I think Alien (TM) Aliens are much scarier than Skinny Grey Aliens----

The humanoid form is agreed upon by most scientists, to be an efficient form for intelligent life.

Where art thou Deano.??...........Look!.......Alien possibilities......

With all the solar systems, and billions of galaxies........bet there are some.........Maybe right here on our little planet.... 🤨

Yeah, I understand that, but intelligent life is so often only looked at through the human perspective. I tend to think that skews the perspective on the studies. Dolphins are intelligent, so who's to say there isn't a planet out there that supports an intelligent race of dolphins.

No one, but assuming that the stories about Aliens are true (an they are not) we can be relatively sure that the Planet of teh Dolphins did not pay our nice little earth a visti yet.

Ahh, but what if they did? What if that's where dolphins come from, and in the future, the home world will send a probe to re-establish communication with dolphins and it will, inadvertently, vaporize our atmosphere, and the only solution will be to travel back in time in a Klingon ship to find some dolphines to communicate with the destructive probe?

....wasn't that about whales?

Basically because it's extremely difficult to build something under water. According to antropologists we humans really started getting big brains when we started using tools - and differentiated ourselves between the stone in our hand and our hand...

Evolution is a tool of the DEVIL! HISS! Just like the Metric system and American Idol.

Yeah, but I thought it was a good way to keep Star Trek relevent to the discussion.

Well, maybe underwater creatures are a bad example, I'm just saying I find it hard to believe that all intelligent life has to fit the human mold.
