If we had God's word, from God, then 99.9% of the world's questions on religion would be answered. We have what people have been saying for hundreds of thousands of years, is God's word. But not God's word itself. Which is why it isn't enough. If someone says "Maynard of Tool is coming out with a brand new band, he told us so." but he hasn't actually said it, you'd want his words to confirm it. Just because God isn't here, people assume it's true.

Well, do you know the real history of the Bible? How every word of it has been sifted through with a fine-tooth comb by at least one leader from just about every post-Roman civilization? Maybe two thousand years ago some of it was true, but at this point it's been edited, misinterpreted, and changed to fit the needs of so many different government officials, it is hardly the same document at all.

The Bible is my guide in life, I am by nature sinful and my ways are not God's ways. I believe the Bible without question because it is truth.

The church spreads the gospel to others, and it is the individual themselves that accepts God into their hearts. The church is a public gathering place of worship, not some...whatever you were thinking about.
