The Passion of Christ

yeah, it's obvious that this guy got so moved by it that he confused 😂 come on, dude did murder, the chance of him being unstable are so high that he just snapped cause he would think they would crucify him too

There is a HUGE difference between the history of these 'facts' and putting it neatly into a movie. For starters I do know that the 'facts' are NOT that accurate as you claim them to be (go to moviemistakes.com or read ie the gospels that got rejected) and I also heard of a lot of people that the directing isn't really that well at all.

and here is a worldshocking news: my mom and grandmom disliked it an AWFUL lot! they are christian and they just hated the damn movie, so be careful with generalising.
There are quite a few who are educated on the facts and they too say there are certain elements and stuff in the movie that did not happen at all. The only reason it's so high is that so many christians are seeing it cause of their belief, NOT cause it's an oh so great movie as you want to make it seem

(omegaman, I really dislike your tone you put to kes here)

passion of the crist

i think that this movie should not be in theatres for many reasons. I will not list them though cuz i don't want other people to feel awkward...if thats the right word. If u disagree with me not liking the movie feel free to tell me why i should like it...i want to know why people actually like the movie...however, i have not seen the movie...

Look yessort , I DONT need to go to moviemistakes or any other secuilar site to tell me what I already know about the gospels!! I have already agreed that a few of the things like the demon children and the "demon" baby were not necessary but that was an interpetation of Mr. Gibsons!! I challenged you to tell what you think was NOT accurate besides those few things.

As for your statements about the guy who confessed after he saw the movie, I dont really know what in the heck you were trying to say, it was so jumbled?? Please try and restate what you meant to say, it made NO sense what so ever! You are going on what you think he was thinking while I am basing my statements on what he ACTUALLY said in his statement.

I really find your statement about your mom and grandmother distrubing if they are in fact christian? Just about my whole church saw it and we have a membership of about 4000! And this is the first christian I have heard say the "HATED IT", and personally have spoken with about 100 people or more from my church and they all thought highly of it. To say you enjoyed it , is not really a good way of stating it. I thought it was well done and for the most part HIGHLY accurate. AS for whay the majority who saw it think of it, I will let the facts speak for themselves in (1)the box office, which you can see for yourself and (2) I will bet you right now , it does millions in the DVD/VHS sales when they start. So mark it down now and we can discuss it later!!

And finally as to my tone as you put it. I dont really care , because that is your OPINION because you cant hear a persons TONE through a computer screen. If Kes made a comment about it ,then I would care. Your tone is the one that seems too agressive.

suck up
😛

No one would like to see Jesus suffer and die, over and over and over again
I would have no problem with it

And this is the first christian I have heard say the "HATED IT",
then you should try to talk to chrisitians in Norway, cause they hated it. Probably because it was so bloody.

1)the box office, which you can see for yourself and
Actually it aint doing all that well over here in Europe compare to how it did in the States. Over there it drew people to the theathers people who never attend movies at all.

really?

Stop and think , wasnt it more likely I was refering to him accepting responsibity for his actions as the "right thing to do!"Do you know what a conscience is? The movies meaning must have hit home with this guy , he might have been "mixed up" when he committed the murder but he definately was thinking straight when he admitted his sin and confessed to the police!
You miss read me or I didnt explain it right.
But lets leave this topic...we dont now what the guy was thinking.

The point about "knowing" the bible IS THIS: you are right to enjoy the movie you dont need to know it but to be able to proclaim that the movie is NOT put together well or done well you NEED to know what you are talking about! This IS history and well documented History at that! As far as those who didnt like it , I am sure they are in the minority and probably doubt or hate the story of Jesus in the first place. For one who is educated on the facts, it was well done. It was VERY long over due to be made and shown! To me the bottom line facts speak for themselves...the movie is well on its way to possibly be the #1 movie of all time!! To me that weighs much more than the few negatives I hear here!
I never said the story was wrong...or that it was told wrong. I merely said some scenes werent necessary to tell this story and some technical stuff was all wrong.

Here the movie gets lots of ppl that usually dont go to the movies to see it but mostly hated. This is a very religious country mind you.
There's this women that writes what Jesus tells her (she actually publishes the books) she went to see it and left because Jesus told her: "See, all those years ago they gather around to see me suffer. Now they gather around in the theater to see me suffer and use it has entertainment!"

~Its ok, we all know its basically impossible to have a civil discussion, about this topic, with religious ppl.

i will say something civil and im religious, a very strong christian. i have not seen the movie, i plan not to see it coz im a bit of a sotfy when it comes to that sort of violence, i mean i saw braveheart on tv and i reckon i could have stomached it at movies, but its different when it concentrated on one person. but anywayz i encourage everone to go see it nonetheless, its great times to spread the gospel coz people everywhere are walkin out of the cinema saying, hmm maybe i should go to church (not that that will make u go to heaven - oohh thats asking for trouble but i had to say it) i herd heaps of stories like that

weather or not its a good movie i guess shouldnt really go with weather its accurate. i havtn herd anything about how well its made, the directing, the musc the acting, (i mean people have said oh yeah these thigns aqre great and its a powerful movie)

that was pretty civilised

I know people all have different opinions....but finti, do you think saying "I wouldn't mind see Jesus dying" was really that appropriate??..I think that was pretty rude.

Challenge accepted: The whole freaking idea that he's the son of a god, him having any magical powers, him being that all pure and good...
should I continue?

basicly: he's serious retarded and weak if he confuses due to one movie

the only reason it's that popular is as previously said: only the religious people go again and again. there are movie-goers that see it once, as with a lot of other movies, but they won't see it twice or more...

and if you have a problem with me or others, be sure that you make it a problem, memberbashing is not allowed and after a few warnings you get a ban, for more info, read the rules

You are being to sensitive.

Kes: well i am very Christian, so I don't like to see people saying that rude of things especially about Jesus. Don't you care at all that he/she said that?

No.

well, AS... if you don't like people saying stuff that brings down your religion, I suggest you don't enter this thread anymore. Cause it will always be the believers vs the non-believers and it can be a bit rough 😖
