I dunno...Bruce Almighty just seems like a more accurate source of jesus identification than a fancy pants movie made by a guy who eats dog biscuits and was almost blown up by a toilet bomb.

Is it just me or does Chad Kroeger (singer of Nickelback) look like Jesus? I say cast him in the sequel!!! Who says jesus cant rock out?

The Passion - sets even MORE records!! It beats out Lord of the Rings in Itlay! Sets new records in Britain, Egypt, Syria, and Lebanon! The Passion could very well be the Biggest movie of ALL time!

It's quite pathetic, really, that everybody feels they have to see this, and then they feel like they have to praise Mel Gibson as being a "prophet." How ridiculous can you get?

I think it is pathetic that people think they have to bash the movie and to put down Mel Gibson and to question his ability as a director or his motivation!!

AS far as him being a "prophet" , I guess he is ! To me a prophet is who is tells what happened,will happen,a voice, a speaker! A prophet puts out a "message" and Mel has done a FINE job with the message of "The Passion" and it looks like it is being HEARD!

To yess... I think the millions that the movie makes in Syria will count just like the millions he has made in the US, UK, and around the world!! That is in addition to the lives that it has touch in Syria. So I dont think you can discount or put down Syria like you seem to be trying to do!

Lets try not to argue or judge what ppl think of the movie. Some like it some dont lets leave it at that please.

Face it , if a movie "tanks" at the box office it because either nobody cares about seeing it in the first place or others have seen it and warn everybody else that its bad. If you look at the history of movies in general this holds true.

I know you are a mod , but I am still going to say what I feel. It seems to me that because you dont like this movie, you want to label it with "numbers at box office , dont mean anything", but if you were talking about some movie like...Lord of the Rings, Godfather, Star Wars, or just about any other "all time" box office giant, you would say that shows that they were good movies!

I would really be interested in what some of your favorite movies are? What movies do "matter"? What movies were directed well?

I just know for a fact , that nobody in hollywood, the world of movies, society, etc thought that this movie would do what it has! Mel Gibson believed in the story and did what others told him NOT to do! I find that courageous and daring! The fact that it has been so well recieved(not matter what you or others on here say) shows me that "society" does what movies like this to be made!

I dont know why you really dont like it( I can only guess), but I know that I saw how people acted the night I saw it! They loved it, thought it was great, well done, well directed, etc!

Sure you can disagree with me(and the MASSES)and like most things in life.....numbers do mean something...whether its numbers as in dollars or numbers as in people of one mind or thought!

it's not cause it's big at the box office that it's a damn good movie, best proof is Titanic, awfull story, terrible FX, and the fecking ship did not sink fast enough damnit

it's not cause it's such a "prophetic" movie or what ever you want to make it, that it's so damn good that it is a smashing hit!
it's a combo of who sees it and how many times (and in this case, mostly christians, who will see it a numerous amount of times for some reason) with a combo of the hype (HUGE hype), the subject (biggest religion in the world) etc.

hey, if all factors considered.... if it WASN'T selling well (and YES, it is PURELY about money, nothing courageous about that), not only would Mell made a retarded fool out of him, but the entire religion!

Obviously I'm not saying every hit equals crap. There are good movies that made lots of money but lets face it American movies are crap. Mostly just blockbusters.I'm not saying this is a blockbuster. Take The house of sand and fog for exemple, that movie is awesome. IMO the best of 2003, yet it didnt make much money.
