Im just sick of him telling lies that he doesnt know are true or not.I mean yersot what if you wanted to tell a story close to your heart you wanted to show the world a story that was very close to you.And you made it and it made all kinds of money but instead of people likeing it they critisized you and said that you did it for financial gain?Thats what Mels getting right now.And when he heres accusations questioning why he did it it probaly hurts.Quit talking and lying about something you know nothing about.

it's ok, it's just a matter of opinion, either take that up in the pms or just give your opinion why you think it's true, what it means to you, and ppl will either accept it or say what they think. It's all just circular reasoning. And although i agree with you...

Gibson couldn't get funding for the movie because all the studios new that it would be a bad, redundant and boring film. As it most definately is. Here's the movie in a nutshell.....

*WHIP! WHIP! WHIPPPP! AHHHHHH!!! WHIP! *cold mocking of jesus's pain followed by cheesy flashback to his normal life, then simply another 40 minutes of whipping*

Yeah, that script musta looked really interesting when it was passed around the studios.

Studio Executive - "What's this, a snuff film?"

Mel Gibson- "Well, yes, but it's about Jesus Christ so it's okay to see what really happened"

Studio Executive - "Get out of my office you nutjob"

Mel Gibson - "You havne't seen the last of Mad Max"

As for the whipping scene, why do you people feel the need to blow it so far out of proportion? It was about 7 or 8 minutes out of a 120 minute movie. To say that Jesus being beat to death was what the majority of the movie was about is foolish and ignorant.

If you didn't like it, fine. Don't go out of your way to disrespect those of us who did indeed like it. Doing things to spite others when it comes to relgious beliefs is something that no one should stand for, or tolerate. Especially on this board.

The entire movie was pretty much the man being beaten, which one would expect thou.
I just dont see the magnificent work of art some of you claim this movie is.

Granted the whipping scene wasn't that long, but in general the rest of the film after the whipping scene was him being tormented in some way or another, either mentally or physically.

But you're right, it is just a movie and nothing more. And it's a bad movie at that.

the reason he was being beaten was to give you a choice, so that you could go to heaven.

The script he used was the Bible, which was a perfect script to use 😛 also It was not JUST another movie, it was a movie that was about JESUS, and a religious movie at that, therefore it was not just a movie.

I'm not all up in arms about people disliking the movie. That's the beauty of opinions, people can have differing views.

That said, it's still ignorant to say that the whole movie was about someone getting whipped. It was never meant to be an entertaining movie. It was a story, a visual depiction of the last 24 hours of Jesus' life. Nothing more! Is the Bible from which it was derived entertaining? No, nor was it ever supposed to be.

It may be boring to some, and that's absolutely fine. Alot of people have some unfounded opinions and views, and that's what bothers me the most.

This is one mans conveyance of a message, not a Hollywood blockbuster shoot 'em up flick.

If the movie or it's subject matter doesn't appeal to you, why go see it, and why critique it?
