as for thor - mad thor ko'd ss, and mad thor had no more 'power' than real thor, it was just that thor completely and fully cut loose with his power without thought of ramifications. people seem to think 'mad thor' and 'regualr thor' are different beings. they aren't. anything 'mad thor' could do, thor could do. he just usually doesn't.

I was going to make this exact point...but you beat me to it.

The same goes for Supes, we have YET to see him use anything even close to his full potential. If this was a fully enraged Supes. SS would lose. What good is a cosmic blast if Supes can vibrate through it, and beat SS down. No matter how you look at it Supes IS strong enough to knock out SS. he's also more than powerful enough to dodge any blasts SS throws at him.

Cube, now can you show me SS actually fighting at light speed, instead of flying in circles? While u are at it, show me thor fighting and reacting at light speed.

I respect Superman. I know exactly what he's capable of. You don't have to defend him against me. If you read my previous posts, you'd see how Superman could win, but why he wouldn't. It both characters are using their powers at maximum output and efficiency, Surfer is way above Superman.

If Surfer decided to go toe to toe with Superman, of course he would eventually lose. But that isn't in character. It would be like Jean Grey saying, "Oh forget the Phoenix Force. Let's slug it out." Surfer isn't a hand to hand fighter. He would fight Superman at range, and there isn't too much Superman could do to counter Surfer's far superior speed and agility. Superman's a lot stronger, but that's it.

If this was a fully enrtaged, uber pissed off Superman, the Silver Surfer would still win. He wouldn't be able to land a punch on a well written Silver Surfer.

By "fighting," do you mean throwing punches and the like? I can show you pictures of Surfer moving at greater than light speed without his surfboard, avoiding attacks at greater than light speed, or blasting his opponents at greater than light speed.

If you want to see Thor's true capabilities, read Silver Surfer Vol. 3 #86.
I never said Thor could fight at lightspeed. Neither can Superman.

I'm not a librarian. I can't give you a scan of every comic book I mention. Find some info for yourself.

Many times Supes has amazed people by doing seemingly impossible things.

I could say SS can't survive a gunshot...would that automatically make it true?
Of course not...

Anyone know how Superman's force field thing works, exactly? If it is is indeed a solar powered force field, Surfer should be able to at least drain that and leave Supes vulnerable...

Good point, i'm not a librarian either... and putting in scans for the material I do have is time consuming....if u want me to take your words for certain things, you need to take mine also.

It's an unknown bi-chemical field..some say part tk.

DC hasnt made up its mind yet. When Cadmus tried to clone it for Superboy, they just made it pure tk.

Hal has cosmic awareness via the ring. He would know how Superman's body works.

My point is, Superman doesn't have the versatility and raw power Surfer has, and he isn't fast enough to keep up with a well written Surfer. If both characters are using their abilities at maximum efficiency and output (without enhancement, of course. No Prime, or Keeper,) Surfer has multitudinous advantages.

Up until this point, I have taken your word for just about everything.

what do you mean, "fighting"? Surfer doesnt do punches much. Oh, he can fly in circles at light speed but not in squares! Nope, wont believe it till I see it!

I think Superman can dance the hula at 90% of light speed, but I'm not going to request a scan of it before I believe it. 🙄

Full potential or no, Supes is given hurt by quite a few baddies, including people Surfer would eat, like Doomsday....

This is POST crisis, not pre.
