Like that one room near the Alpha Labs. You're in there, and it's all dark. And then suddenly you hear a creeking noise, and you switch to flashlights...only to reveal 4 of those suck ass zombies creeping up on you. The best is either the fat dude or the guy in the orange suit.

Classic is right!!!

😂 You're right, the other creatures are strong but the zombies continue to creep me out.

I really, really need to get this game. Even though I KNOW it'll scare the hell out of me...I still want it. I played the first Doom when I was about 10 years old and it terrified me, yet still I loved it...Doom III is definitely on my "things to buy once I have some cash" list ✅

god damnit!!! i'm getting heavy laggage every time i go into a room with more than 3 bad guys in it.

I have a Nvidia GeForce 5600 FX Ultra and it's a 256 not 128. Is that a bad graphics card?

Actually, i had a friend look at my comp, and he thinks it might be a slow harddrive or something.

What do you think could cause lag for me. I got a 2.8 Ghz Pentium 4 with a gig of pc-3200 ddr ram.

I hear ya, Link. Tried to install it myself yesterday, and I have serious lag time AND no sound. It's been some time since a game came out that forced me to upgrade my PC. 😠

Yea, If you wanna play Doom 3 and have ti look good, Your gonna need some cash.
And its supposed to look GOOD!

A harddrive shouldn't have much to do with visual lag, that would simply slow the load times at teh beginning of each level.

It's probably your graphics card. Try turning the graphics settings down a tad and see if that helps, if it does, then it's your card. Everything else in your pc looks sweet. A new graphics card may be in your future.

yup like BF said it's probobly the graphic card, in many tests it dosent even beat the GeForce4 TI4600 128Mb Ram belive it or not, its true

yah, well if i'm gonna go out of my way to get a new card. Which one should i get?

I was planning on getting another Gig of ram in the near future. And I want a good card. My friend wants to sell me an Ati All in Wonder 9700 Pro card for like 3 bills.

I don't really care, as long as my computer can run games without the horrible lag.

Well how much ram do you have? 3bills? how much is that? if you just want a good card that can run all the new games smooth and don't want do spend so much money on it, you should deffently consider the ATI 9700 Pro or 9800 pro

yah, i was thinking about getting the 9800. $300 is 3 bills. But I don't know if I really need the All-in-wonder or whatever it is. That makes the card much more expensive...

and i have a gig of Ram right now. It's PC-3200 DDR

If you're going to get a new card, pay an extra 100 dollars and get one of the new ones. The X800 pro or the Geforce 6800 are both top of the line right now.

yeah if you got the money you should deffently go for the high end cards. I wouldint even consider buying more ram in your case, 1GB is more then enough for the time bein

So is this game as big of a let down as I'm hearing? I've heard that the graphics are amazing but the gameplay gets repetitive.

That's a valid complaint, I can see how people could see the game as repetitive. But the atmosphere is simply so strong and convincing that the game never gets old to me.

Got a Ati 9800 Pro and things are great now. I have it on Ultra or whatever the highest setting is, and aside from very very slight lag while opening the door to reveal a new room....everything is smoothe and nice. Got the card for $209.95 NEW.

And I agree with BackFire on this. It is a valid complaint, but I get so sucked into the game itself that I don't notice. I just like going room to room, clearing everything out, then I start looking for foot lockers and storage units...stuff like that.

I'm finally about to enter Alpha Labs Sector 3. When Do I get a damn chain gun???? The only taste I've gotten of the nicer weapons (plasma rifle, chain gun, rocketlauncher) were from hosting my own multiplayer game for a few minutes to check them out.

GREAT game. One of the best I've ever played...repetitive or not.

You only get the good guns, halfway through the game.
Did you get the solecube yet?

I'm not in Hell yet. I'm only just starting to enter Sector 3.

Yesterday I went home, loaded up the game, and hit some lag spikes that left me in a dark corner...then zombies started attacking me outta no where...and i couldn't even see them because of the horrible lag...it was too choppy.

So i went out and got a new card, installed it, and played for 3 minutes before my brother came home from work almost in tears because he had to "draft his fantasy team" for football. 🙄

Then I showed him how much smoother the game ran, so he spent 2 hours playing it. I only got the game for like 20 minutes yesterday. *sigh*

You get the chaingun by following the whispering voices going "over here". It's in a hidden room. You can also get it from some enemies you'll encounter soon.

I'm right at the part where you pick up the PDA information about the guy regretting ever letting Chin borrow his 8 sided dice.

Have I already passed the secret room? Because I'm soooo going back if I did...

I don't remember, don't worry about it, you should be encountering zombies with chainguns shortly. It's not that great of a weapon, the ammo gets used up too quickly.
