no he didnt hold back

what? yes he did, thor was with warrior madness, and surfer didn´t wanted to really fight him. he was impressed with thor´s abilities, but that doesn´t mean he would loose. like i´ve said an million times, surfer wins.

yes thor is a better fighter, so what? you think a fight between surfer and him would be a kung fu one? thor is a better fighter then galactus and living tribunal that doesn´t mean he is able to beat them, now is it?

That whole 'Surfer holding back' crap doesn't work. Surfer always holds back in a manner of speaking--that's the way he is. That was their second fight anyway, and the first time it took Surfer AND Loki teaming up just to give Thor a sweat, and the entire time Thor just thought Surfer was after a friendly sparring match. It wasn't until Thor realized what was going on that he unleashed and Surfer was a bit scared. Classic Thor at full power vs. Surfer at full power is a good match-up, but New Thor at full power vs. Surfer goes to Thor hands down. You can say it a million times all you like norrin, that doesn't make it so.

yes new thor is stronger than surfer, but i usualy think classic thor whenever anyone says thor

i was talking about classical thor, and you can say whatever you want, surfer is superior to classical thor.

i don´t know the new thor, i don´t buy his comics, if you are talking about thor with odin power, he would beat surfer, i never said otherwise. And by the way isn´t new thor dead?

No, new Thor doesn't have Odinpower. And no, he isn't dead. New Thor has complete command over the Asgardian runes, he's arguably superior to Dr. Strange in magical abilities. As for classic Thor vs. Surfer, that's your opinion. Stan Lee believed they were at pretty equal levels, so it doesn't really matter what anyone else says.

classic thor surfer easily way to powerful with regards to old school thor, king thor well he can polish and sweep with a broom up his arse\it seems so hed probably win, seems people rate classic thor way to highly

never heard stan say they were on equal levels either or read this, when that happen, far as i read surfer is way above the hulks and the thors

Use periods please so it's easy to see where your sentences begin and end. Surfer is not way above Thor, not in the least. Thor's strength surpasses Surfer and Mjolnir has the ability to absorb any energy, including the power cosmic.

Hmmm...Im not sure who to take on the strength thing since Surfer can increase his strength to an unknown limit...Mjolnir can absorb cosmic energy...to an extent...its not like he is going to entirely neutralize surfer though...Surfer can also absorb practically any energy himself...In infinity wars he absorbed energy from binary stars and destroyed an entire planet, dont forget. Surfer displays his absorbing powers more frequently and to a higher degree than I have seen Thor. About classic Thor and classic surfer, I certainly think when the surfer was introduced he was meant to be more powerful than any being on Earth. Thor had been humbled on multiple occasions by the time Surfer made his first appearance. Classic Surfer fought the FF...classic Thor was a member of the Avengers and would not have been a match for the FF.

I think he just destroyed the Goddess' home base (and probably a large area around that) but I don't think it was the whole planet coz I remember the heroes still fighting on the ground at the time.

I don't mean he can 'netralize' Surfer, he just has powers on Surfer's level. Mjolnir is just as powerful as the power cosmic *Surfer's limited hold on it I mean* and Thor's strength is considered to be second to Hulk in the MU. Thor is definitely a match for the classic FF, Sue is too powerful now, but in the old days Thor could have taken all of them. I don't think Surfer can take all 4 together now either.

By the way SS is unable toabsob the god forc for some reason.

It's because the godforce is a cosmic-powered force as well. It is capable of hurting Galactus, so of course his old herald isn't going to be able to stand up to it. It's one of the most powerful energies in the multiverse.

this is a 50/50 battel imo

its 70/30 in favor of thor in my opinion 😄

The first time I ever saw the Surfer he virtually clobbered the Hulk. Anytime SS and Hulk have fought, SS won without breaking a sweat.

On the other hand: as I understand it, whenever Hulk and Thor fought, it was usually a stalmate, or Hulk won.

I'm glad to see here that most people agree SS would trump Thor...so how the hell did Thor beat Surfer the 3 times they fought? My theories are as follows...

1). They fought the first time in SS's first mag (issue 4 was it?). SS was first empowered by Loki (after fighting Loki to a draw), then fought Thor in Asgard, and as I remember it, Thor was winning, with SS acknowledging Thor's enormous power.
First of all, keep in mind that the Surfer at this time was no where near his original power level, his power first reduced by Galactus then the sonic shark, to only a fraction of his original level. At best, Loki could only have doubled what Surfer was left with, leaving SS still far below his original level, and thus below Thor's level. Plus SS was fighting Thor on Thor's home turf.

2) SS fighting Thor with warrior madness. As I understand it, warrior madness upped Thor's power tenfold. As such I legitmately give this to Thor.

3) Again, I heard there was a third fight, but never read it. Does anyone know?

My point is, Surfer (especially currently, with his powers restored) should be Thor's superior. Even Wizard thinks so (although, they also think Flash is all that).
