Im not ignorant, Im very well aware of odinforce thor's relative lack of feats.
his most impressive feat would be forming the asgardian castle in kansas and scaring iron man.
He was thoroughly manhandled by rulk mano a mano. Later on, he managed to get some cheapshots in during their second encounter when rulk was distracted by green hulk.
I guess his dispatching of the destroyer was quite impressive, but that was his lone impressive battlefeat.
his win against grandpa wasn't that impressive imo.

All of the things he accomplished would be above regular Thor's ability. And the Rulk fight is nothing but simple bullshit. In your mind Rulk, who can kill a Grandmaster but not Thundra+She Hulk, might make sense, but for the rest of us it does not. The character is clearly the result of just awful writing.

rulk wasnt distracted by green hulk
he was about to ge his @$$ handed to him when greeny interrupted. he even admits he was "on the ropes" against Thor.

Thor showed in his next fight that he definitely had the stuff to break him.
Loeb's writing as been anything but consistent though.

Well, aside the fact that BRB doesn't = Thor...
Thor has shown he has enough versatility with Mjolnir and his own innate powers to be a match for Surfer's Power Cosmic. His own raw power is also off the charts (not saying Surfer's isn't). I've always seen Classic Thor as a match for Surfer; OF Thor and any incarnation above that should handily beat Surfer for a majority.
Based off what Thor and SS has been shown to do then
there is no way for Thor to beat SS.
1. Surfer reflexes are at least as good but is faster and more mobile.
2. Surfer has powers that can momentarily keep Thor's hammer from him causing him to be a free target.
I don't see how Thor can hit SS. But that's just me.

Surfer only gained the advantage on BRB when he had his board sneak up Behind him. then captilized
I wish the writers would of let the two of them really go at it anyway BRB has always been a notch under Thor so Surfer beating him is about right but it could go either way i guess

1. Great more mobile H2H BRB was better then Surfer. BRB Thor close equal was able to dodge/refelect surfers energy attack with little effect.
2. What Powers does Srufer have that can keep Mjolnir from harming him or are you sayying Thor Dumb enough to toss mjolnir ar Surfer???

It is in Thor's character to throw Mjolnir at least once in a long fight.
But I was referring to where SS used cosmic bolt to hold it against Thor.
Somehow keeping Thor from his hammer (even for a small moment) is the key here. SS has done it at least twice to Thor already so we know he will most likely do it in this battle. But SS will not just sit there and miss Thor or not attack him when it happens.
Plus SS can use his board to attack Thor simultaneously as he is attacking him already.

We had a long debate about this issue already DarkOdin. Bottom line, the Surfer can use this method of attack to take down BRB easily in any forum fight. Thus, any fight with BRB and the Surfer will have to use that fight as a reference. "Sneak" or not, this strategy is a vald one and can be used to net the Surfer a majority in any forum fight.
Also, the Surfer didn't get "owned" in H2H he got hit and wasn't even visibly damaged by it.
Thor is not BRB so I will not argue for either. However, I will say that Thor has returned to classic (BRB) levels.
