All that stuff about science is somewhat irrelevant as well. Fire did not want an attack on modern science, simply a comment on the principle of certainty.

yes I was stating my views...it's a discussion isn't it. 🙂 Isn't that the fun of ideas...to play with them?

Just to add too, I know it's your post and you wanted to talk about a certain topic and I ran off on some other tangent...I do that 🙂 sorry Fire didn't mean to offend.

In the end I really want to know what other people think so I'll spill out as freely as I can what I'm thinking. Y'know lets share (heh heh) you can call me a crazy bastard and I'll call you a stubborn bastard (for example) and at the end of the discussion we can smile, say thanks for the chat it was fun. Always there is respect for who you are. In truth I love who you are, y'know Brothers and Sisters N all that 🙂 I learn best and find out more if there's a challenge. 🙂

no problem and as ush said it is very hard (if not impossible) to beat philosophical sceptism

One thing I am certain of right now is that Ush probably didn't bother to read more than a couple of lines of each of Pel's paragraphs. It wasn't exactly on topic, it wasn't exactly what Ush wanted to hear, and it wasn't relevant enough to the specific discussion.

Another certainty in my mind was that it was however very interesting, and I learned a few things from it.

That was cheap, Syren. I read it all. Fact is that he quoted Fire's post, and then didn't asnwer it. That seemed odd.

If Pel wants to start his own discussion- he should open a new thread.

Well obviously I didn't mean it in a malicious way cry

I just assumed as it went off on so many tangents that you'd scan it rather than read it word for word......

We all know Ush never leaves one word unread Syren.

Ah well...

Tell you what, now we have a whole forum for this, we can spend hours getting into the implications of this, and bring Putnam into it! Yayyy!

(loves Putnam)

Fire, what makes you think that humans are capable of coherently expressing the question you raise?

🙄

I've set him off now haven't I?

*settles self comfortably*

You may sit within hugging distance of me...

😱

*throws self at intellectual one and hugs his knees*

Oooh, knee hug!

(pats your head)

haha I ramble 😆 but I did eventually answer the question. I believe there are things that are certain. Life and death. And a product and reflection of that, love and pain. Also I'm certain there is a paradox within everything.

Thoughts?

oops almost forgot, I'm pretty certain I'm an odd one 🙂 haha argue that one 😆

Odd indeed, but interesting winkiss

*is still hugging Ush's knees*

Life and Death aren't certain

Ush I get your point now and my reply to it is: 😛

Haha good stuff Fire, now..."Life and Death aren't certain"...why not?

As long as you are remembered you cannot die.
Nothing is for certain in my view, the light in my eyes tricks me, so does the sound that passes into my ears, and the wind on my skin.

nah not like that raven

pelo A) who says we aint dead and these are just our spirits?
B) if someone unlocks the secret of immortality tomorrow then death aint certain either
