USH'S STAR WARS GAME- CAMPAIGN II, EPISODE I (DARK SIDE)- New Order

Oh yeah, Tanic's defence is Reflection

+5, Tanic. A spin and an easy kill.

A -1 from Rah still finds his target...

Tip- don't forget you can 'snap' attacks, to make them faster but worse. A standard snap makes a 3 frame attack take only two, or one of Galder's two frame attacks take only one, with a -2 to hit. -2 is quite a lot, but you are SO likely to kill these guys, it is worth it...

What do we actually need to kill them?

Score an Outcome of 5 or more, but that is reduced by things like Carnival of Carnage, and Lightsabres.

Stupid non-named mooks!

(Oh, they have names, I'm just too busy killing them for anyone to care... 😄 )

Galder turns, satisfied with his killing of the security guards in the immediate area. Using Speed to blur towards the aft hicks, Galder swings at a hick with a strong, quick blow (snapped).

Nume follows suite behind Galder, using Awe on two men and Combat Push on another.

Vash stabs the nearest guard's chest using Strike.

You don't use Awe 'on' people, Nume, but I shall consider it activated.

Oh my! Rah! Your first attack missed! A -10! You must have slipped on something...

Galder, you also blur over. Your snapped attack quickly disembowells a foe, leaving you on frame 10 still! You could have left another attack for me (or more probably Cleave).

Rand, you don't have speed, so this will take a while to get over there. Well, only a few seconds, but that counts for a lot of frames!

Ok, eight folks left to fire at this point. An extra attack on... well, Galder, because he is scary.

Attacks on the reflectors give attacks back of 4 from Rah, 9 from Takuan and 9 again from Tanic. Your bounce goes nowhere, Rah- it was almost a hit, so you were more concentrating on getting it out of the way! I am afraid you just miss your bounce, Takuan, but you injure your taget, Tanic.

-----

CURRENT SITUATION AT: Second Sequence, Frame 13

Outside Silo

Rand: 10/0/3 (aft)
Galder: 6/0/10 (aft)
Takuan: 12/0/6 (aft)
Rah: 10/0/8 (aft)
Tanic: 8/5/8 (aft)
Vash: 5/9/7 (aft)
Rianna: 10/5/13 (aft)

Security men (aft) x6: 0/7
Security men (aft) x1: 0/6 (awed by Nume)
Security men (aft) x1: 3/7

-----

Tip- you can attack more than one nearby target with melee weapons, with a penalty to hit equal to the total number you are attacking. If you have the Trick Multiple Attacks, this is very worthwhile! I may limit how many you can attack at once, though.

Galder, Rah, Tanic, Vash and Rianna to go...

Tanic disembowells two of the guards. (multiple normal attack)

(Phew! Sounds like Rah nearly impaled himself... 😂 )

Right if I've got the rules sussed right...

With a dazzling spin Rah goes for the nearest guard in front of him.
Then using Reaction he Combat Pushes the guard to his front left.

Defense same as before.

(Just out of curiosity could Rah position himself between 2 guards and when they fire use evade or dodge so that the shoot each other? 😄 )

Heh, I am afraid the rules don't account for that, Rah, though if mooks roll botches on their attacks I might make something like that happen.

Tanic, you roll evens. That gets -2 for the multi-attack, but that 12 is still enough to kill the mooks, and two of them are killed!

Rah, your evens-rolling dazzling spin works a lot better and another guard falls. However, you can only use 'Reaction' as, well, a Reaction! When you are attacked. And I can wait until they fire and then have you React/Push, but then you would not be able to Reflect at that mook, and would have to pay another frame to reflect if any others attack you (and judging by their dwindling numbers, that is not likely).

Heh. Go Galder!

(Cleave indeed, Ush!)

Galder laughs maniacally and jumps down on another guard, driving the blue lightsaber down his opponent's throat.

(Here's my next attack, Ush...)

Galder then drops low and drives one blade through the stomach of another hick (snapped), using his other blade to deflect any incoming shots with Reflect (Richocet Level 1).

(Gah, that sucks...)

Nume just watches...for now...

(Want to save my frames for Reflection if shot at)

Vash makes a slash at two guards at once.

Ok so just to make it clear. It would have to be something like - Rah gets attacked, Reacts and Reflects and then Reacts and Combat Pushes at a cost of 4 force points and 4 frames. Or would it have to be classed as 2 seperate moves unless he was attacked by 2 people?

Whenever you use Reaction, it is like using a defensive action, and you can only use one defensive action on one attack, you see? So if only one mook attacks you, you have to choose between the two.

You are not 'just watching' Rand- you are still running over! I was intending to make the attack you wanted when you got there.

Galder, the cleave kills, and you roll +4 on your attack afterwards, which is enough fro another Cleave. You are on frame eight and the bad guys ar enot firing until frame 7!

Vash, you rolled -2, but with your Multiple Attack tricks, that is still enough to drop both your foes.

Well... that only leaves one left! Whom I will assume Galder will cleave- which he can do before they fire!

And... well, that's it then, folks! You just took out 30 people in about as many seconds.

Now, some of you wanted survivors... when you 'kill' mooks they are not always dead, just out the fight, so some are probably still up.

With any luck, that fight has given you all a good grounding in how these fights work! Not everyone you meet will be that poor- standard mook skill is 7, these guys were 6- but the principle is all good. You can kill large amounts of people very easily. The trouble is, their lucky hits will slowly damage you over time. Do not forget the use of powers like Guard, Sidestep and Evade in minimising such unlucky damage.

Galder switches off his lightsabers and spits on the last man down. "If they really thought they could take us down, they were nuts and needed help from a mental institute..."

"Now what, Nume?"

The fight should also have shown why the Type C templates dominate in combat, even though they don't have the highest sabre score etc.

"we should get to interrogating one" says Takuan approaching a man apparently not dead. "i'd like to know who sent them"
