Ah, sigh yourself. My opinion stands, no matter how uppity you word your post.
Read what I said again. It doesnt disprove what you say, it just shows you didn't get what I said.
Its all man made. Its all subjective. What proof do we have that science has it right, besides all those high falutin formulas and 'laws'? Mathematics and physics are all well and good, but what do they explain that hasn't been explained some other way in ages past...and that will probably be re-thought and re-explained in some other way some day in the future?
I'm not anti-science, quite the opposite. I just think its another case of gigantic human egos needing to explain, and thereby own, everything that exists.
Thats the great thing about opinion and faith, they are both only as strong as the will you have to believe in them.
Creechuur> I beg to differ. ‘God’ didn’t become ‘Darwin” or any other scientist. The big difference between science and religion is the absence of proof. The advert of science was our ability to explain – rationally – what we saw around us in nature, and to make predictions based on those observations. To test nature, and make those tests available for everyone.
What proof do we have that science is real? Your computer works whether you believe it will or not, no? 😉
Science is based on the one assumption that nature is indeed explainable by human beings. And seeing the progress science has given us this assumption seems to be a valid one. It is not faith in gravity that keeps me on the Earth. My mass and the mass of the Earth took care of that, long before I could HAVE any faith in gravity… And you won’t fall off the planet if you stop believing in gravity. Try disbelieving in electricity and see if it goes away…
Done?
See?
You don't have to believe in science, it works regardless. But I'm still to see the slightest piece of evidece any divine beings exists.

MO agnostic is perfectly plausible, but atheism assumes that the atheist knows everything.
