If they are as certain as they are about the Trojan war, lil, that means they are not even vaguely certain at all... and they have more on Troy than Amazons!
There is probably historical basis in them, in that women have fought as warriors over time in anicent history, but a distinct Amazonian culuture is a myth.
But as I say, that really makes no difference to the current debate. No-one reasonable can deny that women can fight. That is not the end of the argument, though.
Basically, the argument is not "Can women serve on the front lines?", because literally the answer is yes.
The question is "Does mixing genders on the front lines work?" And a lot of people think no, and witrh good reason. And if you have to select only one gender... for the reasons of physique outlined above, you'll choose the men.
As to the question CAN it work, rather than does it work... tricky... anything is possible over time, I guess.
