Terminator 4: News, Rumors, and Speculation

Started by Cinemaddiction33 pages

The thing is, "Terminator" laid it all out. You can't stray but so far from the original source before you end up making a TOTALLY different move, and have the fans hate you. Kind of like how the T-100 became almost "too" human, he became self aware of his surroundings, and stuff like "talk to the hand"?

If there's a "T4", I just pray they atleast get some casting continuity, and make it a big war epic, with John in command, taking on the machines, just like Reece spoke of. No filler, no new crap.

I think you mean the T-850 (Arnold) right?

I hope for the things you mentioned as well. If they do the things that were mentioned then I think that T4 could actually be a very great film.

Unfortunately sequels do have a tendency to head in a direction opposite to what would make a great film. However I do have keen hopes on T4, if done properly, it can indeed be a good film.

T-100, the original. T-850 is "T3", and weither it's canon or not, he seems to have been getting reprogrammed every single time. They just evolve the character, regardless of model.

True, they do seem to evolve the character each time. The way it acts, speaks, moves, etc.

I completely agree with you.

even though i dont like stahl as john connor i hate switching actors for a role.

It would ruin any momentum gained, despite as you said, John Connor played the role terribly.

Ooops, Nick Stahl that is.

Given that part of this thread's title is "Specualtion" I will speculate a bit myself.

I speculate that Nick and Danes will return to T4 and reprise their roles that they held in T3. I also speculate that Arnold will return with a small role and that the production team will find a new star to play a new model or version of the Terminator in T4.

Vin Diesel was rumored to be in the cast. I wonder if the good doctor will return ?

I hope its not Vin Diesel fear

I would have to agree that I hope its not Diesel either. But hey, as discuessed in another thread, Arnold was just a run-of-the-mill action star before t2. Maybe T4 will do the same for Diesel. Not likely, especially since I'm not even anticipating a good movie out of T4. But hey, SPECULATION right?

Nah Diesel should stick to the boy racers.

I think Ralph Moeller is likely to get the role, and he was rumored to be playing the next Terminator after Arnold.

October 16th 2004 -
According to Bild, Ralph Moeller is in talks of portraying the Terminator in the next sequel.

Ralph Moeller is well know for his muscle packed body, from playing "Conan" for the same titled TV-series. He also had roles in "Universal Soldier", "Gladiator" and "The Scorpion King".

He said, that the negotiations started and he will meet Jonathan Mostow (director of "Terminator3: Rise of the Machines"😉 soon.

The producers still hope to get Arnold Schwarzenegger for a guest-appearence.

Ralph Moeller is a former Mr. Universe, who was also the German Bodybuilding Champion of the International Federation of Body Builders, a champion boxer and worked as a professional swimmer for seven years.

Here is a pic of him below

Never heard of him..

How would he fit in the movie do you think?

Anyway I don't think it would be easy for him to convince me or many other fans that he is the Terminator nor could any other actor frankly. Although I definitely think he would a much better choice than someone like The Rock or Vin Diesel.

Alright...T4, this is what we could do that I think wouldn't piss T1 and T2 fans off...if we could do it...Since Mostow and them changed the outline of the future for T3, change it again. Have a T-800 (I don't care what you say, he's not a T-101, F you Mostow) sent back to aid John Connor in the war effort. Make it so the resistance is fully active, and after victory seemed imminent, the machines have created something new that puts them back on top. Arnie (or multiple ones, I don't know, but it can't be The Rock or Vin Diesel or something gay like that, we need Arnold) helps them with military tactics and understanding the cyborgs more and stuff, and also tells them about Skynet. Now I know that they said it wasn't a centralized machine in T3, but we could say now that by the time of T4, the machines have created restoration centers or something that control everything, sorta like Skynet. So part of the plot could be about destroying this Skynet and we could have part of it maybe like, Kate gets taken hostage by the machines in an attempt to understand the military tactics of man - we capture people to lure traps and stuff. This way, Kate won't be complaining and screaming the whole time, but she will still play a kinda big part. John Connor and The Terminator, and a cameo by Michael Biehn, and the resistance gets Kate back and wins the war with the machines, well, you could say that they destroy Skynet and right now its without a doubt a victory for mankind and random machines are still left but not much to have the war go on for long afterwards, maybe after 2 more years the machines will be extinct. Connor's kids = they are an integral part in the cleanup process, which takes all of their lives and decades more than that. The very end could show the year when it supposedly gets back to normal, whether thats as much as 2250 or something I don't know. It could show a memorial much like the Lincoln Memorial, with John Connor, and it could also show a memorial for the T-800 model look of Arnold.

Terminator 4: The Rebellion of Man
Terminator 4: The Victory of Man
Terminator 4: The Cede of Skynet
Terminator 4: Triumph of Mankind

Most of that actually sounds pretty good. However I think it might overdo it a little of Arnie 'once again' comes along to save the day. There are other options. But agreed that Diesel and Rock are a waste of time.

I think Terminator 4: War of the Machines works well.

There is news on T4 although it is not official, it is from a writer who hopes to be included in the production of Terminator 4.
January 6, 2005

TAFs:
A few rumors are beginning to circulate once more that T4 is being pushed forward. The last thing we need is for T4 to be another PRESENT DAY protector mission without the returning cast members that we know and love. The fans will not accept any T4 script that is not at least 80 percent taking place in the future. One of the biggest Terminator fans on the planet, Chad Campbell, is back - ready to shake an angry first at the producers, writers and the studio!

Chad Campbell stops by, he has been very busy for the past 6 months, and wants to explain some things to the fans out there regarding his dream projects. He also shares with us an early concept poster image created by Mind Vacancy.

TAFs: So right now your focus is on T4?
Yea, I really am trying to get it done by January. I have a concept artist who is doing sketches for me right now, brining some of my scenes to life. Which I hope to post some of the rough sketches soon. And while I thought of T4 I made sure I fulfilled certain things. SUCH AS:

1. Not just another protector/assassin mission, and no newer models of Terminator. We will see the old models, SKYNET’s early designs.

2. This will have Arnold in it, a little during the second act and through out the third act. His character is very important, but different then ever before, we see him interact in his world, so things are not as humorous as they use to be.

3. We see a dramatic war story, I first created the characters before anything else, then a thick story to tie everything together, but at the same time, the general audience will be able to follow. And there is a cool twist on how they destroy SKYNET.

TAFs: Why are you attempting your own T4 script?
Well simple, T3 was a great movie, but not that great, Mostow is a superb director, but the writing aspect of it was not that great. The script I am writing will bring back what made the first two films great, I have been working for years on it, and listening to what hardcore fans wanted, and did not want, as well as I listened to myself. I was not going to create a war story unless I had some cool twists that I could add.

I just hope the Executives will listen to me, we want Quality over Quantity, not 3 more movies, just make one more, and put all the money into that. Wait for Arnold to be done with office, and put him in the film as a lead.

TAFs: Why do you want to end the series with T4?
I believe heavily in Quality over Quantity. Any more it seems movie makers just want to pump out a million sequels but to do so it seems they have to water them down to keep the story going. To me Terminator should have ended with T3, it could of if it was done right, but I can’t change that. You always have to give interest to the audience and now as most know Terminator 4 will be in the future wars, the decaying earth. And though the world is very different, I think after one movie of all the ruins of the world, people will get bored of it and grow tired of the same thing. I don’t want to have Independence Day things where we see big monuments destroyed. It’s too cliché’ there are millions of people that do not get to see these great monuments always shown in movies where the world has been destroyed, so I wanted to show the everyday things that everyone around the world sees, and show them veiled in darkness. To me any more audiences can sense when a movie is just trying to milk itself for all it’s worth. Let’s make the last chapter the best one.

TAFs: Anything you would like to say to the movie makers themselves?
Yes. I want to work with them, help them make this the best movie possible. Too much any more movie makers just start making a sequel with out even watching the one preceding it. Hollywood sometimes gets so political they forget to make a good movie. I think some outside help, and the help of a huge fan would be best. I still want Mostow to direct this film, but I would love to be a huge part by telling the story. So guys if you’re out there listening, I may not have a track record, but my ideas have won over most who have heard them. I really hope we can work together, and make the best movie possible.

Chad Campbell will be back soon with more Mind Vacanacy artwork to share and perhaps to share some more wrath! After all, until we hear that T4 will take place roughly entirely in the future and that Arnold, Stahl and the other cast will return, we strongly encourage the wrath of all fans worldwide!
