Comic of the month!

Started by ScarletSpider48 pages

Ultimate Ben Reilly was Conner's lab assitant, and at the end of the arc he made off with some of Parker's blood/DNA, perhaps he tries to experiment with it and becomes another spider-man.

I'm somewhat wary of Secret War, it's a cool premise and all, but nothing has happened, other than Cage being injured, which we know he's going to be all right because he's becoming an Avenger soon. At the moment I'm somewhat gun shy about Bendis, usually he's good, even great, but his take on Avengers sucks and he's flooding the market with himself, I can only take so much.

Ultimate Nightmare is quite boring. Usually Ellis does top notch stuff, if the last 2 issues in the series really deliver, then he might redeem himself. However 3 issues into a 5 issue mini series and nothing has happened, I know there's the big deal with decompressed story's, and it's supposed to be treated like a film, with the build up and everything, but even 3/5ths through a movie something exciting has happened by then.

The new Herald for Galactus is here!!!! Check out FF 519

who is it??

Soilers...duh

I only got to glimpse through the issue, but it boils down to Johnny Storm uses some alien machine to switch his sister's powers with his, then Galacus comes and makes Johnny Storm his herald, the Invisible Man.

Marvel solicit's for December: http://www.herorealm.com/NEWS_IMAGES_HERE/October/Marvel/Marvel.htm

Good looking stuff. Love the Cable and Deadpool cover, and the hints of the Fixer guest starring, can't wait. A Beta Ray Bill miniseries?! Excuse the language but, ****ING AWESOME. And many more surprises inside.

THe one comic I'm most looking forward to this month is:
GL Rebirth #1..

This months Lucifer was quite good as well, as hell gets a new (human) ruler.

GL Rebirth was a lot better than I was expecting it to be. Having Hal back is great, but if they were to do it in a convoluted manner, as I thought they would, then that would suck. But it's actually pretty good.

OoOoOoO!

Anyone read Marvel Knights Spider-Man #8 yet? Good stuff, and we get some clues as to whom the real bad guy is, though nothing concrete, of course.

nope. i have to buy issue 6 of Astonishing x-men.

New issue of Identity crisis is out today.

They find out who did it.
The murderer is:

Spoiler:
the atom

I'm going out to buy that today. It's a great mini-series.

I love all the things happening to Spider-Man at the moment, because his fanboy's are having such a terrible time. "Oh no, Gwen's a ****!" "He has organic webshooters now!" "They ruined Venom and killed Aunt May". Complain, complain, complain, that's all you hear from them. I love Millar's MK Spidey, and I will continue to like it for a long time, he's far from some rank amateur and he knows what he's doing. He's telling an interesting, new story that's not a rehash of something 20 years ago. Get over it.

That said, though I've been following the series, it has been luke warm at best in some spots, but Alpha Flight is taking a turn for the better. What promises to be a good time-travel story, although the title is somewhat retarded. "Days of Future Present, Past Participle!" I doubt Lobdell actually knows what the past participle is. And some of the dialouge attempting to be funny is a bit grating, but overall an improvement.

Avengers Finale was just a bunch of talking heads, as you'd expect it to be, with a supposed to be touching moment at the end. Yeah, well.

New Thunderbolts was a great return to the series with some new characters. Genis should make an interesting member of the team, and I'm excited to see how it goes. Some have complained about the team fighting an Atlantean team of bad guys, Fathom 5. "They're not big name enough". Well, in the original first issue, the guys fought the RAT PACK. Just some glorified looters. And there's a great surprise on the last page, per T-bolts tradition! You'll never guess who their financial backer is.

yeah i definitely love millar's take on MK spiderman, he doesnt have organic web shooters in MK

i didnt get the avengers finale because it looked just like you described it, as for new thunderbolts i've never read about them

as it appears a large group of bad guys appear out of nowhere, the group consisting of mentallo, grim reaper, king cobra, scorpion, crimson dynamo, shocker, mister fear, constrictor, lady octopus, trapster, goldbug, scorcher, boomerang, eel, wizard, spider-slayer, crossfire, and hobgoblin

sorry i'd use the highlighting thing but i have no idea how to use it....in other forums theres usually spoiler tags

as for new thunderbolts i've never read about them

Originally they were conceived by Kurt Busiek, they were the Masters of Evil under the guise as a new superhero team (after Onslaught when, admittedly, there was a shortage of heroes). It was all one big scheme to take over the world or something along those lines. However, most of them under Zemo's leadership decided, "Hey, we've never had it so good, being a hero and kicking ass is a lot better than being on the run and getting your ass kicked!" So they worked hard and reformed more or less. One of the members, Mach I (now the updated Mach IV) was released from prison recently after helping the US government. He had gone to prison willfully to serve out a sentence for murder. Because he was such a nice guy about it, and the guy he killed was worse than he ever was, he did some good stuff, kept his nose clean and they let him out. Upon being released, he announced he was restarting the Thunderbolts to give others the oppurtunity he was given. It's been roughly 2 months, the Avengers disassembled and the world needs heros again.

*Spoilers* (I don't know how to use the tag thing either lol)

The new team will consist of Mach IV, Songbird, Atlas, Captain Marvel, Blizzard, Radioactive Man, Joystick and Speed Demon. Lots of potential for some of these characters. A new character is supposed to join, rumored to be a new Swordsman. They fight Wolverine in issue 4, as a tie in to his current story with Millar (the Invaders will also guest Wolverine in issue 6 with a fight between Wolvy and Namor not to be missed! guest artist too, if you find the regular artists style hard to handle). Written by Fabian Nicieza, with previous credits being the original Thunderbolts series, Cable and Deadpool, X-Factor and others.

is the first issue out already?

if not when does it come out

The first issue came out this week.

im gonna go check it out then, i bought the first issue of new invaders a few days back, its freakin great, the artist is pretty damn amazing also

Glad to hear it. I know some people don't like the artist, I do, it's an interesting new style. I can't wait for issue 4. Vampires!

i have to catch up to the latest issue, but yeh the artist is pretty damn good, i mostly like it for the way he/she draws body language and facial expressions

Yup. Issues 2 and 3 finish up the storyline. I like the writer a lot too. Not this decompressed tripe that takes 7 issues to finish. Stuff is always happening. Issue 6 is going to be an Enemy of the State tie in, with Wolverine vs. Namor!
