Ahh, ok. I must get around to watching it.

Paris was obligated to consider fighting because he was a Prince and, more importantly, Hector's brother, which is a heck of a lot to live up to. Given a totally free choice he would rather have not left the city walls at any point at all.

But actually, I am not sure where this idea that he must have been well trained just because he is a Trojan Prince came from. Certainly in the Iliad, one of the points is that the Trojans are an inferior warrior culuture, decadent and ill-prepared for war. I am not sure what the movie says about it.

in the movie they are very ill-prepared for war

but they do according to the movie have the best archers in the world

Big house?!😑 What's that? 😕

😛

erm, 😮 sorry. i didnt mean that everyone lives in a big house. i kno most ppl don't. an paris prolly did. little error on my part. got kinda caught up in the moment, if u will.
ah, yes, paris the archer. he is able to accomplish the impossible. the murder of the greatest warrior the world has ever and will ever see. he shoots him with a bow from far away. brave paris. as his cousin screams "Nooooo!!!!!!!!" while trying to kiss Achilles, paris murders him. wonderful.

oh, yeah, i thot all the acting was great. the only one i found "iffy" was, if u can believe it, orli. i dunno y. something wasn't right.

I do hope that's sarcasm!

the first shot in the heel was when his back was turned on Paris, doing that is even below the lowest point a warrior can go

than achilles was stupid enough to run to paris who just had to hit that torso and done is done. If you could use a bow, those three in the chest were just impossible to miss 🙄

two words.......... AWESOME MOVIE

Brad Pitt looked very very very nice........ and sexy!

Ok, I just saw it....and basicly 😐

If I ever buy that movie, it would be when its on sale and only because you can see Brad's nakkid butt in it....thats it.

Sorry guys, but i didnt like it 🙁 Agamemnon was.....not as i would have immagined Agamemnon as, if that makes sense...and

Spoiler:
he died, and that was kinda....unexpected
😑

the only good thing was Brad Pitt for me in that whole move...

Brad 😍

I wander if Hans Zimmer did the music for this film, it sounded very like him?

no he did not do it.. heres a list of what he has done and is doing soon

lol. of COURSE i am being sarcastic. i wanted to kill paris. nothing he did was wonderful. i hated him.

I too hated Paris - that wuss. But, it's a thing you can't change I guess.

I thought Hector and Achilles were awesome, and Odeyus (sp?) was brilliant. It was mainly down to the brilliant acting.

For me, the only weak point was Orlando Blooms character. He seemed to play Legolas (ain't his fault he was type-cast I know, but still) all too much, I was expecting him to start slaying a bunch of Orcs. Again, it's not his fault, because at certain points, particularly when he gets his arse handed to him by the kings brother, he made a good acting job.

All round, I loved the movie. It started out like it was gonna be pants, but once the ball started rolling, I was thoroughly enjoying the movie and it is definitely a fantastic story that for once, puts aside the crap about good vs evil and instead focuses on honour and value between men at war and revenge.

i think many of you dont like Paris, but Orlando played the part fine thats how they wanted Paris to come across

Aye, thats what I said.

I dont like Orlando's actiong, period. I think hes totally the same, in all films 😑 and he kinda came accross and Legolas/Will Turner kinda guy...dunno why, he was just the same as everywhere else.

Maybe they cased him cos he cant act any other way, or maybe they cast him because hes on the hight of his popularity.

i agree with Red Superfly. the movie was awesome. an hector and achilles were amazing. i was soooo sad when achilles killed hector. i mena, i knew it was gonna happen, but still. like when i was reading about the history, they made the trojans seem like the bad guys, but it definetely wasn't that way at all. they were all just people. i thot that agamemnon and menelaus were kind of heartless. esp. agamemnon. i wasn't sad to see them die, though they weren't supposed to (or at least not right away). but yeah. i liked the way there weren't "good"guys and "bad" guys. cause, i mean, in a war, aren't we all the bad guys and the good guys at the same time? we're all human, all afraid, all going to die. we don't wanna kill people, but we do all the same.

Erm..use spoilers, maybe not everyone reading this thread had seen the movie.

This movie was pretty crappy, the messed up the original Homeric poem too much. I thought Brad Pitt was really annoying as Achilles, as said Orlando Bloom as Legolas II, but less brave. I thought Eric Bana was really good as Hector, and Andromache was also really good.

As I said, the messed up the great story to much. Menelaos wasn't supposed to die, he was supposed to take Helen home to Sparta.
Paris was supposed to die.
Aggamemnon wasn't supposed to die in Troy by the hands of Briseïs, but at Mycenae by the hands of his wife.

There are many more (big) differences , but I'm too lazy to put all of them down. On top of that, I know I missed some.

I read that in the original story/poem, the Troyans are said to be bad. That's not quite true. The Greeks were considered the heroes, yes. But the Troyans were not bad, look at King Priam and Hector. Both are noble characters.

I'll give this film 6/10, nothing more.

aww, i thot it was good!

p.s. sorry about the spoilers thing. i don't kno how to use them.

it's posted at the top of the forumsection you know ...
