Most people use their real names and at least their general location on facebook. Because it's meant to be somewhere to keep up with people you actually know. However, all you need to be able to find out pretty much any sort of information about someone is their name. Sometimes not even that much.
And with that post I wasn't talking to you, I was talking to RJ. And it doesn't matter if he was joking or not, like I said. When a subject is said to be done with, it is done with.

The worst a person can do is cyber stalk... And that isn't exactly a big deal.
I'll comment on some of Bardock's suggestions.

This I like, we've had a lot of spammers slipping through lately that I've caught after they've already made a cluster of threads or advertised via signature.

Democratic Mod Choice
We do the first every so often when we feel people are not available enough or have become completely inactive from the boards.
An extra admin might not be too bad an idea. It'd likely be Ush (for seniority).
Discussions on mod decisions are generally encouraged to be handled by PM. Really, though, the majority of the time there's not any reason to take back decisions because the people being banned or whatnot usually earn it...
Democratic mod choice would end horribly. I have no doubt of it.
Validating SectionA section where new users have to post first before being allowed to the other sections
I like this too. It'd just be a matter of determining how to get that set-up and how many posts are needed before they can post. I could see it becoming a cluster of 'postpostpostpost now I can post everywhere' so maybe we'd need a mod or two specifically for meet-n'-greet there? Someone social and easy-going who can catch the socks before they get far.

I agree with a lot of the subforums getting iced there because they are, largely, deader than dead. Some still have their little subcultures that are quite active; those likely would stay. Others can go into KMC history.
Respect forums... might need to take a look at. Like I said, subcultures.
Overhaul is needed, I think.
Unapproved Role Playing
Have a faster approval process or perhaps even an "Open Role Playing Forum" where people can try out their Role Playing Ideas with others.
Eh. The reason we have the approval system this way is because otherwise it'd be a clustered mess of people starting games that don't go anywhere, burying popular and successful ones in the process.
A more easy going philosophy on thread closing and bans
How so?
Delete Threads by trolls instead of just closing them
I personally delete some threads if they are truly problematic (titles, content, etc.) but Raz encouraged us not to do so. May need to be looked at.
Anything Vs. Forum
A forum where any type of vs. thread can be discussed regardless of source
This... ugh. I will never support this. It'd be a vicious and horrible nightmare.
Have social web features, like working on some connection with facebook and other social sites
This would need member approval as a whole. I wouldn't want it, personally.
Additionally, in response to the Twilight or Vampire sections...
I think a Vampire forum wouldn't be too bad, and leaps and bounds above a Twilight forum. I could very easily see a Twilight-only section degenerating to the status of the Pirates of the Carribean section. All they do is post fanfic and discuss who is hotter, Jack or Will or Liz or...?
A Vampire forum would allow all sorts to join in the discussion- True Blood, Vamp. Diaries, Anne Rice, Dracula, and beyond. Society is perpetually rehashing vampires, it'd stick around.

I'd love a Vampire forum as well
I actually like a lot of the German's ideas. Things like this would make for a vast improvement that KMC desperately needs.
As far as the Anything Vs. Forum goes, well............I could be game for such an idea, but only if the presentation for the forum is well thought out, informed, and not a recipe for shit. I dunno. All of the other mods seem to vomit a little bit in their mouths at the mere mention of such a prospect. Maybe they know something I don't.

I don't know about the other ones but the Comic respect forum is a very useful to the comic vs forum. Since it has a large amount of characters feats for them it's easier for a less knowledgeable person to get a grasp of what alot of characters cna do. Also good way of keeping up with things for certain characters.

yeah agreed, on the comic respect thread..
also love the mvf respect forum as well
It was me that suggested unapproved roleplaying. Fair enough I can see that is not open to negotiation so I let it slide, Except this..... If that is the case then approvals need to be dealt with a lot faster than it has been, Because kmc has lost a lot of roleplayers through waiting too long sometimes a month and even longer than that sometimes. It's far too lng and most who were interested either move on or forget that they signed up for it in the idea thread, dooming the rp to fail even before it's even begun. Faster approval of rp ideas is a must otherwise the rp forums are going to die.... Speaking of rp forums Hosted is dead pretty much so here is a suggestion merge Hosted and Unhosted together and make one rp forum maybe with an updated set of rules and so on.
Originally posted by ImpedimentWith the right mod (you) and a firm set of rules, this will work nicely. Rex is right, it COULD be a "vicious and horrible nightmare", but that's only if it is not moderated properly.
