The Suggestion Thread

Started by Ushgarak334 pages

The only person we had to earn respect from for the position was Raz. Beyond that, it is obligatory for all posters to show respect to the mods- that is part of the deal of you posting here. Plenty of posters refuse to respect the mods, despite the mods deserving it. That is their problem, not ours. And whether you said shouldn't or not, your post displayed a great ignorance of the way things are. Calling mods 'just' staff is ludicrous.

If you cannot see how the way you phrased your suggestion was rude and insulting, then I am sorry for you, but I can only tell you not to do it like that again. You've been on thin ice lately.

Again- if you are not prepared to discuss it with the relevant mods, then discussing it is a waste of time.

I have a suggestion... A reforming of the VG forum. Allowing multiple threads for hardware. And by this I don't mean just 3 threads (One for each console) I mean to allow people to talk about seperate things in seperate threads.

Also allow a more liberal approach to the software threads. Again, if the game is large and diverse enough to allow multiple threads... Let them happen.

So long as the threads aren't duplicates and remain about VGs they should be allowed.

Oh yeah... Really rude...

Look... If these forums are petty enough to disregard an opinion because the poster is rude then they're not worth improving.

I've said it before and I;ll say it again... Get off your high horses or these forums are going own the pan. Y

You're right... you're not just staff... staff get paid.

I'm done now... I'll cool off. Because I will say something that will get me banned if I don;t.

Ok spoony, obviously your attitude is never going to improve and further discussion on it is pointless. We've tried enough warnings with you. At this point, I think it is best that you stay out of this thread.

If you cause any more trouble in here, you will receive a permanent ban.

The same applies if I see you attacking moderators in any part of these forums.

To get back on topic, I was thinking over my last post while at work today:

Everyone unanimously agreed that the Sci-Fi/Fastansy, CGI/Animation, Foreign Cinema, and Horror forums should be mass merged into the Movie Discussion Forum.

I'm of the opinion that some of the movie franchise forums like Terminator, Matrix, Indiana Jones, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Transformers should be mass merged, as well.

The larger forums like Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter, I really don't know about. I never go into here and I don't know how active they are, if at all.

I stand firm in my opinion that Matrix, Terminator, Indy Jones, Transformers and POTC should be mass merged into the MDF.

As far as LOTR and Harry Potter goes, I say that it should, for now, at least, stay separated from the MDF.

As the Movie Forums Moderator, I can say that with the upcoming final two Harry Potter films and Del Toro's two separate Hobbit films, these films will, in fact, be generating a lot of buzz and traffic to warrant their own respective areas.

That, and LOTR and HP are so much more than just the actual films.

The Transformers Forum, in my earnest opinion, was a trifle unnecessary. Yes, the franchise is, also, more than the films, but if you look at the actual forum, you'll see that the threads are very, very banal and random. Not that there aren't similar threads in HP and LOTR forums, though.

Shit.

I forgot to mention that Guillermo del Toro will NOT, in fact, be directing the Hobbit film(s).

I felt that I had to clarify this, since I don't want to look bad as the effing Movie Mod. 😛

🙂 I agree with that whole post one hundred percent, but I do think I raise a strong point, when I say,how are you going to control this? I mean, just dont want the movie forum to get clogged with ''random'' and ''silly'' threads from fanboys and I dont think I would be the only one. When I go into the movie forum,''which you mod very well in my opinion'' I want to see a thread with the title ''Pirates of the carribean'' for example, not threads like ''Would you take Jack sparrow out for dinner''Does anyone see my point? There will need to be a new set of strong rules to stop Fanboys from these franchises clogging up the movie forum with stupid, pointless threads

It's really only the existence of sub-forums that encourage the creation of silly threads. Sure, there will be a few bum threads made, but they'll be closed and noted pretty quickly. I think it will work better than you fear.

🙂 Well,As long as you guys heavily moderate it,too stop it getting clogged with them sort of threads,I am happy

Is Raz doing stuff in the back ground as we speak? because its been close to a month now since he last posted.

It's been like 10 days. But I don't know if he's going to do anything. Perhaps he will be gone until next February again.

Oh ok, I didnt see that under posts made.

Much as it pains me to say it, the Smallville sub-forum should be merged with the TV section. It's deader than dead and really there isn't a need for that sub-forum anymore.

On another note all the bickering in this thread is really ridiculous.

Even though I have never watched a single episode of Smallville, I am inclined to agree with this.

🙂 Yeah, but the thing is,if that gets merged, the movie forum is in danger off getting clogged with ''trekkies'' this is what I'm getting out

So put it in the sci-fi section.

So put it in the sci-fi section.

That section is definitely going to be merged as far as I understand.

And the SW sections?

The SW sections are the basis of KMC.

KMC began as an Episode II Forum, if I recall correctly.

The SW sections are safe from merging.

Again, I have no opinion for the potential merging of the Star Trek Forum, as -Pr- is the mod. His input is best.

New suggestion.

Get rid of the PG13 Era. Time to upgrade to the R attitude. Besides those 13 year olds from 2003 are practically gone or grown up already.

(certainly no porn or shock sites pictures)
