I'll be honest, I completely lost interest in this game once I got my Wii and Zelda. However, once I'm finished playing/ get bored playing those games (which will still be a good while) then I'll go back to FFXII, it was a good game.
I kind of feel the same way.

Well, I'm still playing 😛 but I don't have a Wii yet.

I'm at the Phon Coast, and am using the damn birds to practice chaining Quickenings together. I regularly hit a chain of 7 now, I could get more but I don't ever use Ashe's Quickenings, I'd rather save her MP for healing and stuff.

I spent a ridiculous amount of time looking for bunnies in the Salikawood, btw 😛

quickenings suck, they're such a waste of MP.

Phon coast is a great grinding area, as is the following area.

Quickenings are good if you're ambushed by 3-4 of those damn birds, but yeah, that's about the only thing I use them for. Though I really never have Basch or Vaan cast any magic so not like I'm really wasting their MP, they don't otherwise use it at all.

what level are you now?

Main three are level 36, I think.

I love the Quickenings and have found them very valuable and worthwhile in my travels. ✅

I like Quickenings because they look cool. lol

any1 fought the final boss yet

Yes.

This is the first FF since 7 I have taken a while to get, all the subplots and other games I got on launch dates, I will get this 🙂 Eventually. This game looks superb.

It's really strong, but its storytelling is a bit weaker than the other FF games, especially in relation to the characters.

FF games seem to have been like that since 9, the graphical upgrade seems to have done them no favours in terms of storylines lately 🙁

Its like as if the guy plotting the storylines was fired after 9, and they had to make do with what they had left.

The gameplay however is a factor of the game that is improving 🙂

Well, I thought FFX had the competent and coherent storyline since FFVI, it was very well told, I thought.

And yep, gameplay is wonderful in 12, the new combat system is a real breaze of fresh air.

The game's definitely worth buying and playing.

I didn't like 10 much, in fact I was rather dissopointed, the gameplay was cool, but the storyline didn't give me what I was thirting for, with 7 it was awesome and Aeries' death was unexpected and left you feeling sad and all you wanted was revenge like Cloud, the games was just intense from start to finish, 8 was just as good, I loved 8, scenes were dramatic, and the storyline kept you interested, 9 wasn't as good as the other two but by no means bad in anyway either.

10 lost focus, it was too focused of graphics, and felt it was way to short, too easy to play and storyline was kind of rushed, the Aeons being the highlight of the game, it was too predicatable, no unexpected twists, no real drama, in fact, there wasn't much at all to hold you interest except the disire to complete the game to find out what happens at the end, which was spoilt more by the next to pathetic bosses you fight at the end of the game. Yuyevon was the first final boss in any game that I had killed so easily. X-2 was even more of a joke then X, it was a complete train wreck, 11 had no storyline as was way too expensive when compared to what you pay to play WOW, and 12 I was sceptical of, but so far it looks to be good, so I have decided to buy it. I first played it in America on a demo booth last christmas and liked it, just haven't got around to getting it yet.

Funny, the way you felt about 10, that's how I felt about 8. The storyline just kinda dropped out after the first disc, and the final boss was just lazily incorporated and poorly executed - "Oh, there's a witch in the future who is compressing time for some reason, go stop her, oh and for added emotional fuel, since we know this explanation is rushed, as evident from the whole thing being explained in one single dialogue, she is taking over Rinoa". Hated the drawing system, way too redundant, and all the characters were way too one dimensional. I thought VIII had too many twists for it's own good, tried a little to hard and just became a big mess of nonsensical explanations and awkward twists.

But, if you thought X had lack of drama, then expect much less with XII, there is almost no drama until the end, and by then it's too little too late, the characters and the interaction between them is pretty poor and light, and the villain almost doesn't exist. But the game play is good, good enough to carry the game in the face of some very serious shortcomings.

Being that I'm obsessed with all things "time travel" it seems I'd probably enjoy playing Final Fantasy 8.

Actually FFX international had new quests and missions, Its more complete.

I dont like part of it because when i attempt to go to certein places , God damm dark aeons attack me, they get first strike and i get hit for 99999 and dont even talk about delta attack and oblivion which i got wtf pwned....

And because of this i am having a hard time getting aurons masamune

Nemesis and Penance frm ffx international make Vayne solidor and ruby weapon look weak

I need a few pointers on the License system.. basically I'm afraid if I even touch the damn thing I'm going to mess up all the characters... (cuz thats what happened in FFX with the sphere grid >_<😉

are there 'must buy' and 'keep away from' abilities that I should know about?

what if I bought every single space on the board?.. will that affect the character (or other characters)?

so far I only know that if you buy a quickening on the board that particular quickening is no longer available to others

they also say you shouldnt purchase an item if you dont got the license for it... which I have been abiding by so far

in any case.. I wont be buying any more licenses til I know a bit more about it

I did however start making vaan a paladin of sorts.. heavy armor + cure and protect

so yes.. any advice / opinions / commentary are appreciated

but plz no sp0ilerz >_> ~

I was concerned with the whole "quickenings not being available once you buy them" thing too.

Let me at least explain that.

Ok. Each character has there own specific quickenings, so no character will have the same.

Now there are certain blocks which are the same blocks on each board that contains a quickening.

There are an equal number of blocks on the board so eventually all the characters will have all of their assigned quickenings.

So if you get one characters quickening, which only that character can get, that block will disappear from all of the boards.

This doesn't mean that your other characters has lost one of their quickenings, b/c there are other blocks on the board for them to get all their quickenings.

I hope that was at leas semi-understandable.

And concerning your other issues, don't take it too seriously. Just buy the enhancements for your characters, such as Extra HP and the such that you deem necessary and that you want and find helpful in your travels.

And then when you come across a weapon that you'd like, purchase it on the board when you find the license and then get the weapon.

IF you know that you'll soon be able to purchase the license, then why not just purchase the license instead of having to come all the way back and buy it when you could have in the first place.

You just have to be aware of what you have and what you need.

Once you get the hang of it and start buying some licenses and purchasing items you'll that it's very easy to get the hang of.

Some of the reviews make the system out to be murder, but it really isn't.
