It is impossible for the entire human race to descend from a breeding population of two people. Intergenerational inbreeding results in haploid nucleotide chains that are too similar to form DNA molecules. This means that they would be unable to reproduce with one another or completely sterile after only a few generations.

Kontraz> IF the Bible is 100 % FACT, it’s to be taken literal, right?
Then the Earth, the Universe and everything is some 6000 years old, by the reckoning of time FROM the Bible.
SO it’s the Christians who claims the Bible is 100 % fact that also claim the Earth is 6000 years old!

“Holy spirit helps us interpret the Word of God.”
Only religious texts claim that SOME special power endows some special people with the ability to read into a text EXACTLY what they, themselves, want.
Fact of the matter is – you can’t convince me there is a holy spirit and you’re not just hearing voices in your head.

Syd Barrett, One album dedicated to him "Wish You Were Here"!!!!!

i already said i dont believe the bible is 100% fact.

and the holy spirit isn't exactly "hearing voices in your head". Think of it more as one's conscience. When you aren't "born again", the holy spirit still talks (not in words, but feelings and urges, rather) to you, but it is much weaker than after it comes to dwell in your soul. It helps christians to interpret the bible (not to say non-christians can't, but it helps us to see God's true plan).

just a side note, something i find very funny is that most people who like the matrix, hate christianity.... odd, seeing as the matrix is religious... (not to start a debate, just a random observation)

and that's where faith plays a role. I think God can just say "hey, i'm going to make this work", so it does...

funny, if you say this but give that "holy spirit" another name, you're considered nuts

I think God can just say "hey, i'm going to make this work", so it does...

🙂 If there is a scientific explanation behind this, I would say that Adam and Eve were created with absolutely perfect DNA--no genetic defects or abnormalities whatsoever. Human DNA eventually went down the pisser because of the inbreeding.

well.... god DID tell them to go and populate the world, did he not? I mean, back then, people lived to be well over 200 years (we DO have actual records of people living for those periods of times, namely the greeks). So, if they started having kids at say, 14.... and Eve had between 1 and 6 kids every 9 months for the next 200 years.... and all of their daughters would have between 1 and 6 kids every 9 months after they reached 14.... those numbers REALLY start to add up.

PLUS, there's your genetic defects right their. Inbreeding shortens lifespans, and we already have substancial evidence that our lifespans have been shortened from those of a few thousand years ago (though now they are once again on the rise, but that is due to technology, NOT genetics).

Also, who's to say that way back then people weren't 300% more intelligent or something? So, there's a good sign of retardation mentally. Also, we know that people back then were much stronger naturally, so, once again, evidence we are "degressing". Those are some nice genetic defects that could be the result of mass-inbreeding...

EDIT: Something else just occured to me... you did say "in a few thousand years". Well... why are you limiting the time from adam and eve until now? How can you tell when humanity was initially created? (i'm asking christians the same question here as well). It could very well have been millions of years ago.

A) thats the point! It could have been millions of years ago.
B) You call it digression, I call it evolution, We are becoming weaker physicly because we no longer depend on our strength for survival, It becomes useless and it goes away...
C) Archeologists and Antropologists. It a proven fact that our brain size and capacity, expecially in the Cerebrum (SP??) is much larger than it was 10000 years ago.
D) Didn't Noah's story and the great flood wipe out the enitre population? So it wouldn't mater when Adam and Eve was around, all the people were killed anyway, Look at my chart....

yes, and if you say you worship something that cannot be seen, atheist still consider you nuts. Funny, guys who said the earth was round were also considered nuts... so its all based on what the majority of the populace to believe to be true. If you are in the minority, you're nuts...

not only atheists say that,... and what is worse? christians will say you're talking to satan. As long as you name that invisible person that talks to you (and only you) God, you're not nuts to them 🙄

well, those that did say that the earth was round were also killed by the christians because they say it's a square... and kept claiming it till what? 1993?

I'm lost at this point.

5) Well, Jn. 20:19-24 says ten. Mt 28:16 says eleven, 1 Cor. 15:5 says twelwe. Yes, yes, the Bible is 100 % fact. WHICH is it. 10, 11 or 12? Which of these numbers is INCORRECT, proving the Bible is not 100 % fact?

You know what Omega? You’re right – you are completely right. The Bible isn’t 100% fact, and you know why? Because it has some contradictions and disagreements of people/places/names/numbers etc. And do you know why there are some parts of the Bible that contradict each other? Like whether Jesus appeared to 10,11 or 12 disciples after his resurrection? Because it was written by humans. Yes, that’s right – it was written by people like us (well ‘us’ would, by dictionary meaning, incorporate u and me, which would be totally wrong in this sense but you get the generally jist.) It was written by Christian believes – like Ytaker, Fiery Eyes, Lianslo, Nijaturtle or myself . . . . . and because it was written by humans, its not perfect. You know why? Because we aren’t perfect, none of us. I have never heard of anyone, throughout the whole of history, that has been perfect, except for Jesus. And because we are not perfect, we all make mistakes. And in the Bible? You know what? It probably has a few mistakes too, because it was written by humans – people who were not perfect.
So there you go Omega. You’re totally right, the Bible cannot be 100% true.

"11) Read Galatians 5:19-21 and tell me dancing is NOT a sin. Then read Exodus 15:20-21 and tell me that dancing IS a sin.
Which is it?"

ok well i have a bible open sitting next to me, and, just for the record, in Exodus 15:20-21, Miriam (a prophet) played on her tambourine and danced with some other women. They were dancing and singing praises to the Lord.
In Galations 5:19-21, 😕 it says nothing about dancing. Here, it says:
'(19) People's desires make them give in to immoral ways, filthy thoughts, and shameful deeds. (20) They worship idols, practice witchcraft, hate others, and are hard to get along with. People become jelaous, angry, and selfish. They not only argue and cause trouble, but they are (21) envious. They get drunk, carry on at wild parties, and do other evil things as well. I told you before, and i am telling you again: No one who does these things will share in the blessings of God's kingdom.'
😕 says nothing about dancing *shrugs*

that's when the church agreed that Galileio wasn't wrong about his ideas

Kontraz> “and the holy spirit isn't exactly "hearing voices in your head". Think of it more as one's conscience.”

Well then… My add the extra assumption that it’s divine? Christians do not have monopoly on conscience. It’s conscience. End of that story.

“just a side note, something i find very funny is that most people who like the matrix, hate christianity.... odd, seeing as the matrix is religious... (not to start a debate, just a random observation).”

Ohhh, pooor you. Are you being hated? Why is it that extremist Christians always claim to be these poor prosecuted people, when they, themselves, are busy prosecuting people who have abortions and homosexuals???
The Matrix has borrowed from everything from Anime to religionS! Note the “S” there, plural. The Matrix is not a Christian movie, sorry to disappoint you.

Morningstar> “You know what Omega? You’re right – you are completely right. The Bible isn’t 100% fact…”
Fine, then that’s settled.
I WAS talking to Elastigirl, but she seems to’ve vanished.

I can't speak for all Matrix fans but JediHDM might be an exception. Anyways, the Matrix sucks period (except the original but the sequels suck *bleep*)

We are all indeed not perfect Morningstar. Not just Christians but all of us.
