It is easy to say that it is ok to have gay characters in comics but it is pointless to have that unless that person has some kind of relationship somewhere down the line and I don't think that the public is ready yet to have two guys or girls kissing in a comic book.
There are just too many conservative parents who would give the comic publishers problems when they find out that thier children are reading a comic in which two "Gay guys" are having a relationship (I don't know why). Anyway that is my two cents...

I think when the people that have power in this day and age, i.e. the old guys in suits, die and make way for "us", then I guess we'll see homosexuality accepted at long last.
The same people who persecuted black people are still alive today, spreading their filth into todays youth.

Look at video games, comic books, anything relatively "new" is also controversial. When something isn't new, it becomes accepted.
Our society, doesn't want to change. Change comes reluctantly, it's in our DNA. We are slow learners, and there are always the infinitely stupid no matter where you go.

but that's the beside the point. Like I said before, i could personally care less if gays are in there, doesnt really bother me, though i still dont want to see homo's or hetero's having sex, i'd rather see it just be implied. I mean, most of us (hopefully) aren't idiots, and should be able to pick up on sexual undertones without having to have it shoved in our faces.
As I said earlier, gays can be in there, as long as it fits their character. Transforming one of my favorite x-men, collossus, into a gay mutant.... that was just wrong... 🙁
Yes, I don't like to see kissing in comics. Ban the kissing, not the homosexuals. Certainly there are many other ways to have charactors demonstrate affection. Not to mention, a one-panel portrayal of a kiss isn't going to effectively show the passion of kissing; its so much in the movement.
Mane, you are most likely homophobic. Its probable your visceral disgust is based on an animalistic fear. You percieve that homosexual behavior is threatening. Consciously, you rationalize your fear as disgust, perhaps even telling yourself that this is about hygeine. You aren't scum of the earth, though. Everybody has hang-ups. I'm glad to hear that you still treat homosexuals no differently than hets.

ahhh... not to insult you or anything but you do realise that kissing in comics has been there since way back before most of us were born. I think you would have to get rid of the scantaly and provacative costumes that most female characters wear before you get rid of the kissing. I agree that there is no need to depict sex but I don't mind scene where a couple are talking in bed as long as it is done tastfully (like the scene in Ultimate X-Men when wolverine confessed to Jene that he was really sent there to kill the professor - Talk about wrong timing).
