I think it's fine to have gay people in comics. however, it is wrong to have them in comics if you only relegate them to the stereotypical affeminate swish or serial killer roles which are prevelant in a lot of popular movies.
so it's ok to include them as long as you don't portray them in a hurtful and negative way. as for the quintessential homophobic fanboys, think walter and steve-dave from the view askewnaverse.
Woah wait a minute they turned Colossus gay in Ult X-Men? Now that's wrong.
I'm not being funny, but making Colossus gay seems very "hollywood" and screams of being PC for the sake of being PC.
Have gay characters, have major gay characters, who are taken seriously, but don't make existing characters gay for the sake of being politcially correct. You have to draw the line somewhere.
You know Flash has been wanting to talk privately to Peter for a while now in Ultimate Spider-Man. He will be having his talk at long last in two issues time, and maybe he might just confess to Parker that he is gay and has a crush on Peter (that might explain why he is always picking on him). What do you think?
I notice some kind of "double moral" around here (but not only here, also in real life) :
Some comic fans adore Carnage, Magneto, Venom, Thanos, Joker... all murderers or mass murderers. People - if you can call 'em that - who don't mind killing your whole family, your friends and even your pet just to prove a point, or because they got bored.
But that's cool, that's okay, ha ha, look at Carnage ripping up these people, ain't that funny.
But, when talking about homosexual people in comics, the laughing stops. A guy who falls in love with another dude, well, that just can't, can it ? Suddenly, we have to draw the line somewhere. Killing tons of innocents people, well, that's all fine, but having erotic feelings about the same sex, we can't allow that oh no...
There's a word for this kind of logic : hypocrite 🙁.

Stacy X was the mutant slut you're talking about. There was another one who seduced Iceman, but she was married and just being slutty. And her husband came, and Iceman beat him up and left. I think.
Marlo Jones and Moondragon got their hot lesbian freak on in Captain Marvel for awhile. Although Moondragon is bald, and bald chicks are kind of freaky. Damn Shinead O'Conner.
I think those who don't like gays don't because people like us and that threatens you. I have people come up to me that want to be my friend because i don't hide behind my sexuality.
I have older adult friends, peers and young kids. We share our sexual desires openly and they feel safe and comfortable doing so.
No one wants the comics to turn to porn, that would suck. I think however a little less stringent behavior between Northstar and say Beast would be nice.
By the way, i think you are all gay. One look at you and you can see that you need to see yourself, you have "coin eyes" and i find that disquesting.

the hell are you talking about? People are screaming for gays to be in comics "equally" and i'm all for that? But to say that they can ONLY be in roles that makes them appear to be great people? How fair is that? What you are asking for is a double-edge. You want gays to be included, but make sure they are all nice and always do the right thing???? No way, if gays are in, there needs to be variety, just like straights, both bad and good...
