Do you think some people have earned the right to die for their crimes?

Started by Cyclops13 pages

Okay, I am posting once and once only. If you think my thoughts are worthless, then keep your thoughts to yourself because this is my opinion.

There are crimes in this world that are horrendous, and those who either knew or loved the victim(s) are obviously going to hurt about it for while (maybe forever), but that does not constitute killing somebody else. By killing the person, they are getting off light, regardless of how much pain and suffering you put them through. You can cut off all of their apendages, eyelids, etc., then stick a sharp pole up is ass and let gravity pierce their heart... and that still would not equal the pain that those close to the victim(s) will experience.

Nobody deserves to die, no matter how evil their crimes are in nature. Besides, there are things FAR worse then death.

But, I do agree that getting cable in prison is a bit of a kick to the balls for the "free" society. Paul Bernado (killed two teenagers, raped, tortured, etc) should be let in common society and let the townsfolk decide what is best for him. Be it casteration, spit on, or what have you.

Please read the beginning of my arguement...society is advancing. Keeping killers behind bars serves no purpose. Reform only works on those who are willing to be reformed. Sickos like the Maryland Sniper who shot down 13 innocent people don't deserve to walk this earth.

This morning a judge sentence John Allen Muhammad to death for comitting those sniper crimes. Sure some will consider him "innocent", but one thing is for sure....he won't be shooting anymore people in the streets ever again. His partern most likely will be serving a life time sentence for his assistance in the murder snipers.

Well, whether you agree with Capital punishment or not! The state has made a decision, and that decision is to execute that murderer. Can you just picture someone like Timothy Mc Veigh serving a life time sentence? Please that is just abominable to support life for a mass murderer!!

Let the Judges (The jury too) decide whether the death penalty should be approve. After all these are indivuals that are highly educated, and do not allowed "EMOTIONS" to persuade their judgement. Logic, reasoning, deduction, and evidence is what a Judge keeps in mind when he makes a decision. 🙂

But if you knew who did it and watched them do it then the Judge lets them off due to lack of evidence then where is the justice in that!!! That is what happened to Krosus's friend. He WATCHED the sicko's doing this while tied up and they got off. The system failed him as it does to so many Victims. Their EMOTIONLESS attitude did not serve the purpose of doing the job correctly how Educated is that??? 😈 😮‍💨

Well, IMO a better more prepare, and more experience judge should have appointed. For me murder crimes should be only assign to judges that are much more experience in the system of the law.

WHAT EXPERIENCE DOES IT TAKE HE SAW IT HAPPEN!!!!!!

Relax, there is no need to used caps (you are yelling at me). You have made your comments, and I have made mine. Let's just leave it at that. No need to lose control of yourself over a debate.

When you say "Judges" do you feel they are the right people to decide whether a human being should be executed or not?. I see your point as far the "logic", "evidence", "deduction", but still should a judge decide whether a person should be executed?

Also please don't mention individuals like Timothy Mc Veigh . He did something too terrible to remenber. And I honestly don't know how I would have reacted if I would have met him while he was alive. I personally was angry at what he did. But I rather not get into that.

I don't believe anybody has the right to take another man(or woman)'s life, be it legally or not. People deserve to be put in state prisonsfor life. Not federal, because those places are damn country clubs. Besides, life in prison is much, much worse than a little prick on the arm. Plus I'm a firm advocate in believing that most people are capable of change.

And while this may seem a bit contradictory, I think some murders are excusable. say, for instance, that two drunk men brutally rape your 10 year old daughter, and leave her for dead. If you take it upon yourself to kill them, I believe that should be excused. Hell, it shouldn't even go to trial. There are extreme circumstances in which you can break the law and should be allowed to get away with it.

I would like to show certain facts to you all, about which countries still practice capital punishment and those which do not....i would also like you to compare these 2 groups of countries...!

Darth Midal> Read the entire thread fer petes sake!

Cyclops> So justice shouldn't be blind???? You want mob-rule?

WindDancer> Will executing this man prevent someone else from picking up a rifle and start sniping around like a loon? Whar, DO tell, does the death-penalty accomplish aside from
a) another murder
b) making the executioner a murderer
c) adding to the general violence of society

Satown Punk> Ah, mobrule again? Who's to say the mob get the right man? Imagine the US south "Oh, a crime has been committed. It's probably that black guy. Let's hang him." Will you execute the mob if they kill the wrong man?

Lil Bitchiness> Enlightening and scary.

Is rather hard to explain it. All I can think of is that particular individual will never again kill another person. In other words if he would have gotten life in prison there is big chance, that guy could escape, and commit more murders again.

The execution of this man will not stop another man from trying to repeat the same thing. Nor a life sentence will prevent another it. Now let me ask you this. How do you solve the problem of "over crowding prisons"? What if Capital punishment is abolish? Will prisons be pack with thousands of murderers serving life in sentences? Should more prisons be built to accomodate murderers?

What do you really accomplish by letting a mass murder serve a life time sentece?

...but windy...thousands of murders DO serve life sentences. Believe it or not, in America....there aren't THAT many death penalty cases. Other countries give out capital punishment like parking tickets. For the most part you have to do some pretty wicked sh.it in order to get the death penalty in America.

That's what I don't understand. How does the law decide which murders deserve to die and which deserve to spend life in prison. Let's talk about two murders that murdered one time. One of them gets life and other gets the death penalty. How do they figure it out? The more brutal the murder? A murder is a murder. That's how I feel.

Yes, exactly...

What about the punishment itself? Do you not find that murdering helpelss people in the way they are murdered is barbaric?! I think they are!

Linkalicious> You keep going on about America...thats not the only country that practices death penalty, and even though its still very native, we not just talking about America and the way America does things!

I truthfully think that giving murders death is a way to let them off the hook. I think they can ask for forgiveness and then go to heaven. But then again, anything after life is unpredictable so who knows, we could be totally wrong about what happens.

...and I'm just going on and on...

If the state kills people, they may be ridding themsleves of scum, but then again, they may be ridding themselves of someone who has the potential of finding a cure for cancer or something. Too many times our justice system has F*D up and killed the wrong person. That's why it's better to keep them locked in prison.

Lil B> I am aware that there are other countries that practice the death penalty. if you notice the 1st 2 words in my post you'll note that i was adressing SOMEONE IN PARTICULAR....thanks for you input as always. But please comment on my statements when they are directed at yourself or directed to everyone in this thread.

As it stands both myself and WindDancer ARE AMERICAN so i made a comment regarding AMERICA. Thanks.

Hey, I'm American too.
