I wanted the time jumping portion to be explained, i mean obviously the island is supernatural, but it was th central character in every season, so i wanted it explained.

Its a little stupid to lure in most the audience thats trying to unravel the questions. keeping them tuned in to see if they will be answered, only to find out they never will cause they switch it up in the very last second and show "It doesnt matter"

The ending was a cop out, but damnit I still felt satisfied. On an emotional level it worked but it also makes it pretty clear that the writers just made shit up as they went along for the past 6 years.

Agreed. Thats why im not giving them shit for it. Lost was made up of two stories, always has been.

The characters and their lives. And the mysterious island, which will always remaind mysterious.

I just dont like how they lured me into it. Just like how they didnt like getting lured into the island?? OH SHIT

how was it apparent early on? You said since season 1, yet the flashsideways, Alt timeline (aka limbo/purgatory) wasn't introduced until season 6.

that's like saying you knew in season 1 that Dogen would be a useless character from the getgo. He didn't exist until season 6 so how did you know?

for the record, I knew all the way back in season 1 that Ben Linus would protect the island with Hurley. It was all common sense. It was obvious!

Dogen, and Hurley and Ben protecting are too specific to predict, and had no clues leading up to it. Purgatory was confirmed in Season 6, but you honestly don't think it was hinted at in previous seasons? You yourself admitted that you didn't get into the show until Season 4 ended, so let me take you back to '04...

Ok, Season 1 was very vague, granted. It had a lot of supernatural aspects. It seems unlikely that anyone would survive the plane crash, but assuming they did, there was all kinds of weird shit on the island. For one, how was Locke able to magically walk again? (That, and the crash itself were largely responsible for initial purgatory rumors). And tons of EM energy on an island still doesn't explain him recovering from the injury. The polarbears being there were a trip, but that was later explained. And then weirdest of all was the Smoke Monster. What the hell was it? During Season 1, there were many elaborate fan theories that it was some poly-morphous trans-dimensional being. (Both of which were later confirmed). Also, why did it kill some and not others? Why Eko? Well, he was a killer and career criminal masquerading as a priest (hypocrite), so presumably he was being judged for his actions.

Later on, there was the statue of Sobek, the Egyptian crocodile-headed god who was a corrector or mender of evil deeds that people did, and that also strongly implied that a Limbo was/would be involved.

And I can go on and on. If you honestly can't see it...well, I don't know what to tell you...

Except you're STILL ignoring the fact that there was no purgatory until AFTER these people left the island! The island itself has nothing to do with limbo, except for it's where these people forged friendships.

I loved it!

the Purgatory thing was brilliant... going with a season 1 theory seems a little too convenient, but they surely pulled it off.

the very end was beautiful... the plane leaving while Jacks dies next to Vincent...

Don't care about what the island was... it's obvious it's always
been there... and there will always be people trying to use it, and someone needs to protect it, don't need any more explanation.

the story of the characters was nicely wrapped up. And I'm quite happy with it 😄

btw:
I was right, Lapidus was still alive 😛

loved how there was literally a cork...the island was cork 😆

This post sums up pretty much how I feel about the ending:

Never did I go in thinking that they could avoid solving most of the mysterys thrown out to us and still be completly satisfied. For me that finale was sheer brillance. When they said it was a character show they meant it and they proved it was the best of our time. When you combine genius writing with excellent acting and a rousing score the culmination of this series was better than television has ever produced. Jacks journey was epic from the moment he opened his eye to the moment it closed and I will not soon forget this story

what are you going on about? there is nothing, absolutely nothing to do with the flashsideways/purgatory/limbo until season 6.

The first we ever see of it is the beginning of LA X when flight 815 is flying over the sunken island and doesn't crash. That's the very first scene of the flashsideways/limbo/purgatory ever shown. How did you know about this scene before it aired? The best you could have guessed was after the season 5 finale, and even then you would have thought this was an "alt timeline" and not purgatory or limbo.

In his mind, the island being purgatory theory = him being right, even though he's far off the mark.

He's trying to bend the old theories to his advantage, and it's not working.

No, that's not how it is.

I stopped thinking the island itself was purgatory since "Through the Looking Glass" revealed a flashforward showing that Jack eventually got off the island.

I knew (and other fans did too) that a purgatory/limbo angle would eventually be worked into the show. It wasn't confirmed until the series finale, but it was hinted at through out the series. The show ended in the afterlife, which was one of the predominant themes of the entire show. The episode "Man of Science, Man of Faith", "The 23rd Psalm", Ben asking Jack if he believes in God before his surgery in Season 3 and so on.

People in the church.

Hmm. I don't remember what daniel and charlotte ended up doing. But i do remmeber desmond saying "Not with me. No" to eloise about taking daniel.

I guess he belongs with charlotte and eloise and widmore. Their own set of people. Pretty clever.

I feel sorry for anthony cooper.

obviously someone did, because Hurley and ben died afterall...so they must have been killed, but by whom? We'll nevr know. If they were killed by another smoke monster MiB character then that would mean Someone ELSE made his own way to the heart of the island and went into the light. Who knows. Maybe the island is somesort of Fate Net, testing the protectors constantly forever. Every 100 years a new group arrive/crash/find the island and the jacob / hurly/protector must keep them away from the light.

Maybe they were the ones shooting from the outrigger in the flashforward..
In which case they may have been shot... 😛

Eko wasnt meeting god or anything...

It was MIB looking for a sucker like Locke to manipulate....
He exploited people's faith all the way through to manipulate them with religious imagery in order to achieve his plan.

When Ecko wouldn't play ball, MIB killled him.

The "afterlife" bit happened after the detonation of the bomb/breaking of the time loop. (Hence the place being outside time)

I loved the finale. I always thought that seasons 1 - 3 of LOST had some of the best writing I've ever seen in a television series. Seasons 4 - 6 on the other hand, made me change my mind. The writers brought up questions that I knew from the begininng would be unsolvable without bringing in higher elements or some fantasy storyline into the mix. But when it came time to watch the finale, I just accepted the show for what it had become and loved every second of it. Beautifull, great ending to an overall awesome show.

Very nice series finale. I was left puzzled by the ending, but it was still very nice episode.

I want to know why Jack didn't become the next smoke monster. I liked how they all gathered up at the end, but didn't understand how they knew all that. Nevertheless a solid 10/10

My guess is because Jack was supposed to go down to the light.

Or perhaps he still did, as the corperal body of the MIB died and he was found outside of the light shrine by Jacob.

Alive.
