Yeah when they enter it. I love watchen that part, and the color looks such much better than what was in 97. It looked a little screwy then, colorwise. The color of the cgi did not match the color of the actual film, but its all good now. I think Jabba looks a million times better, except that his eyes are the wrong color.
Don't like it huh. Okay suite yourself 😄
gangu (sorry, I can spell your name, the guy with the funny michael jackson pic)
concerning the changed lines in the OT, they weren't re-recorded. If you listen to your ANH commentary, you'll hear Ben Burtt discuss the 3 DIFFERENT audio mixes for the theatrical release (and this goes for all of them). Back then there were three different main audio systems in theatres and you had to make different reels for different theatres. So different lines were used in different versions because, as Burtt points out, every mix Lucas would be saying "let's tweak this..." or "add this here". So he was making changes all the way back then. That's how lines get changed to alternate takes, and sometimes odd sound effects get added (like the now removed .45 automatic sound from ANH).
That's why its funny everyone screams the DVD's aren't the theatrical versions. Technically, neither were the VHS versions. It all depended on what audio mix you heard in theatres. Lucas was making subtle changes all the way back then. He's always messed with them. Its getting like Army of Darkness where there's like ten different cuts of the movie depending on who you talk to.
With the exception of Greedo and the new dance number, most of the changes really help them stack up to the prequels visually. Now if only we could get the prequels to stack up to the originals on acting and dialogue 😄. But in all seriousness, after I finished watching the whole trilogy on the day of DVD release, I just said wow, they really hold up to the prequels now. ESB and ROTJ almost look like they were shot with the same digital camera AOTC was. Now if he makes any further changes, hopefully they're only additional scenes that link directly into the prequels, scenes that would be pointless had the PT never been made, but now that it has, certain scenes would enrich them for the new generation watching from 1-6.
queeq, they could just put Luke on a separate layer, leaving the back ground and everything else intact, then reanimate the lightsaber, like they did for the DVD menu screens. It's obviously not that hard if they can do it for menu screens, they can certainly do it on the film itself. Do you work in the industry? because this seems fairly simple a job to me and all the people I know who use Maya and Renderman....
Did anyone else notice GL cut out the words "I recognized your fowl stinct when you came onboard" after Vader and Leia first meet in SW? Her first line was "Vader, only you would be so bold." Oh, and Greedo and Han shot together, and Greedo has always first his laser at Han, even in the original original trilogy. There is a burnt mark on the wall behind Han's head.
"SUPPOSEDLY" in the Ultimate edition, that TPM yoda is gettin' replaced with the digital one. And Superfly, they didn't make him digital because it looks better (though I do think it looks damn good) they did it because of what was required of him in the script. Those scenes would be LAME with a puppet. But I have had a creeping fear that he might digitalize the old Yoda. I don't think he will, but I fear the possiblity... 🤨

I agree. But probably a simple colour correction to that particular shot will already do the trick to make it LOOK blue, like it did in the previous shot. Rotoscoping is probably not even necessary (and it is very costly, it's a frame-by-frame cut out...)
