Then I suppose that, in the Council's eyes, you're not a true Democrat, card or no. That's fine--I can admit it when I'm wrong, especially since in this case, it doesn't really weaken my overall arguement. Having to believe one thing to be a Democrat is not the same as having to believe everything the Democratic leaders tell you--with one exception, you're free to believe or do whatever you like. Likewise, you have to believe one thing to be a Christian--that Christ died for your sins, yadda yadda--and with that one exception, you can believe or do anything you like and still be a Christian.
It does weaken your argument. It doesn't matter how you act if you don't adopt the creeds of the thing. You can disagree on little details, but you have to agree with the spirit of the thing. If you don't act like God is real, if you just pretend so you can go to heaven, then you are not obeying the spirit of God. If you do not believe that we should try and build a stronger America, and you don't even vote democratically (why are we tacking a stupid example this far?) then you are not a democrat. If you act on your beliefs properly, take everything into account, and then you are being a fair Christian. Otherwise, you are not.
To simplify, if you believe that a person needs help with an injury, then you must act. It’s no good saying that you are a helper, unless you help.

Ugh, are we talking about hearing the voice of God again? Must I remind everyone about the other people who hear voices regularly? You know, the people in nut houses.
