why are you an atheist?

Who else is calling everyone on this forum immature when he doesn't have the same opinion?

Sorry but that is just a completely inaccurate statement. It was not because somebody had an opposing view.

I said it twice, once to a person who decided that name calling was appropriate and acceptable.

The other being to you, who decided to act in such a manner as you no doubt already know. In fact you have pretty much acknowledged it.

Any further questions?

Well yes I agree with you calling me immature (cause I am most of the time) but Omega didn't behave immature.

Omega may be a fine person but in that instance acted in a childish manner. I have no reason to harp on it though, it appears to have ceased.

I could retaliate but what good would that do? The best thing to do is to bring it to their attention and hopefully they try to correct that.

oh stop act in such a two goody self inflicted mature manner.
We goof around here a lot and deal with it without the " some poster respond in a immature manner" That kind off attitude makes you a prime victim for those who occasionally wants to act immature, why do they do it`? Cause it is fun

I sure like Fun

Goofing? We are talking about not attacking somebody and showing a level of respect, that is a lot to ask for?

You cant have fun without being disrespectful, is that what you are saying?

depends on the situation

Just ignore Finti; he's probably drunk again 🙂.

drinking is fun

My dear friends, I have read numerous messages regarding the reality of God's existence on this forum. No one has provided factual evidence to support thier beliefs. In light of this, the question whether a God exists or not is a tough question, and one that should be taken seriously. Secular history and science teach (those who are willing to conduct research and comfirm the truths) that God does in fact exist. People dive into theories like MICRO and MACRO evelolution. And others, apply their own source of philosophy, "I'm right, and your wrong!"

For those that don't know: Micro-evolution refers to organisms adapting to their environment over a period of time. Hence, a rabbits fur may change color or a dogs coat grows thicker during the winter and sheds during the summer. Note: Micro-evolution supports the existence of a God. Macro-evolution states that an organism can manifest itself into a totally different organism over a period of time. Like, a dog becoming a blue whale, or a lizard becoming a bird to the extreme of examples. Science confirms that evolution is this type is impossible! Besides, if it were true, where are the newly designed creatures?

Provide tangible evidence to support your views. Failing to do so, only makes you look foolish and close-minded. Throughout the world, Atheists who take the time to fully study science and secular history in support of a God, commonly find themselves engolfed with evidence.

The Atheist is enligtened, and explodes with conviction, that they often covert to Christianity or some other form of religion. You cannot afford to be so stubborn. Analyze the facts, and make intelligent decisions. Simply stating, "I'm right and you wrong!" is not the way to go... obviously. For what bases are you right?

Believing in God does not require intellectual suicide! And the same applys to Christians who have faith in Jesus Christ. So called "blind faith" is non-existent when you confirm facts over idiotic philosophy. People, it's the truth. I was a heavy skeptic, and now, do to research on my part, have become a Christian.

I asked, "Gosh... billions of people believe in God, maybe they no something I don't know?" And naturally I looked into things with an open mind. Most people can't even fix a flat tire and you want me to believe that your all knowing about the universe? Please, give me a break!

Let it be said, that people during the biblical times were just as skeptical then as they are now. It's unnatural to jump into a dark pit and not know what's at the bottom. It's totally pathetic. No one would do so. With that is mind, all the skeptics had to do to prove Christianity false, is provide the dead body of Jesus Christ! That would have for ever silenced Christianity. Christians have been murdered for their beliefs. Do you honestly think they would subject themselves to penalties that grave if they knew what they belived was a lie?

There are almost 2 billion Christians in the world today. That's 33% of the world population. Atheists are at the bottom of the stats: 9,000 or so believers. Seems to me, that Atheists need to spend more time reading and studying the Bible, as opposed to waisting time believing in something they have no evidence of.

It's convenient for you to scream, "Prove that God exists!" Well... I say unto you, "Prove that God doesn't exist!"

It's amazing. People around the world speaking different languages, living different lives on different continents have a common belief that a God does exist. And you, with a smirk on your face have the audacity to say that one doesn't. Enough with the wise cracks... PROVE IT and seek the truth.

Please state comments and questions in a constructive manner. I will try to answer all questions within reason. Thank you.

So what? In other words you're saying that we should go along with the majority? Because there's a lot more Christians than atheists?

Screw that. I was a religious person for years, and believing is some sort of higher power didn't sit right with me. I don't think that anyone who believes in God "knows something I don't".

But of course, I forgot!!! Daring to go against the crowd these days is considered audacity!

Sorry, but I'll believe -- or disbelieve -- whatever I want, and **** what everyone else says.

Your message was a great read. I was intrigue by the wealth of evidence your provided to support your views. It was overwhelming and constructive at the same time. Thank you for your words of inspiration! You proved nothing.

When refering to the masses believing in God, I was simply trying to give relevance between the believers and non-believers. The scale is way off balance. Believers outweight the non-believers. Surely, this doesn't provide any factual insight, but it does present the vast difference in opinion. What facts have these people embarked on to believe in something they've never seen?

The whole statement was derived to create mental stimulation and curiosity; not prove right and wrong!

You stated that you were once a religious person. I'm curious, tell me what lead you away from your spiritual beliefs? I'm not sharp shooting you. I'm asking.

By the way, the word "audacity" (which you used in the incorrect context) is another word meaning "nerve" or "mind set". Don't use words your not familiar with.

Neither have I seen you provide any factual indisputable evidence for the existence of god in your post.

For one thing, I do not have to prove a thing. YOU are the one stating that God exists (making a positive statement), therefore it is YOUR responsibility to provide proof.

And one reason so many people are believers is because throughout the majority of history those who DIDN'T believe were persecuted against, and this still happens today. And have you heard of the Crusades? And missionaries? Another reason that there are so many religious believers is because they are raised to believe in their religion and often times aren't given any choice about their beliefs; it becomes a second nature to them.

In this thread I have several times outlined why it was that I abandoned religion; the gist of is that I was raised in a Catholic family, but always questioned everything that was in the bible, that I was taught in church and CCD classes...but no one could ever answer my questions to my satisfaction. Stuff like "Why does the Bible say one thing here and the complete opposite there; Why does God promise forgiveness for everyone but damns those who don't believe in him"...stuff like that. And this was when I was 8-9 years old. Trust me when I say that my CCD teacher didn't like me at all. Finally when I was about 10, I realized that I didn't really believe in God at all, that I had only been going along with something I had been taught since I was young. Also, I had always been fascinated with science, and the scientific explanation of how life came about (the big bang theory, evolution) made a lot more sense to me than the Christian viewpoint (creationism). It was never a matter of what everyone else thought, because I couldn't care less what the majority thinks, but a matter of what felt right to me. And believing in a god or higher being didn't feel right to me.

I won't go into your comments on evolution from your first post as there's a thread in the GDF specifically for discussing evolution.

And I had meant to say "having audacity" as in "having nerve", but it was early and I had just woken up and was apparently still not quite totally awake. Excuse me.

well first of all there are a lot more than 9000 atheist even if you only take the open non-belivers.
Secondly its not us that have to disprove god, we can'T, thats like us saaying disprove that blue clowns with bananas up there as fly around in space.
And third so you say because people around the world belive in gods I should too, so be it I wll from now on: RESCUE ME SHIVA.
I don'T want to insult you but your post is BS.

Oh yes and you prov3ed nothing at all either so...

Where did you grow up? In the UK you pretty much get raised to be non-religous

The US.

And I'm talking about having to go to church from a young age; I think that I had to go to church every week from when I was a baby until I was about 11.

I know there is no God, because he told me so himself, not in so many words though, but by implication. I did the following: I asked God to reply if he existed at all, and he didn't. If he did exist, surely he would've answered me, right? I mean, if I was God I would've let everyone know that I do exist - it's only common decency to let people know you are present when you're the creator of the universe, for god's sake.
