X-Men Origins: Wolverine

I don't see how anyone could say this movie was any good. Maybe I'm just too knowlegeable on the characters but it was just awful. Not only did they kill off

Spoiler:
Blob but they gave him an eating disorder as a reason for his girth. No blob was just huge as a result of his mutant gene.
And I was really looking forward to his character too.

Anyway the only reason I came to this thread is Ryan Reynolds was just on ellen and he gave her the Wade Wilson Dog Tags he wore during the movie for her charity ebay auction.

nice one more day.

i'll have a full (brief) review afterwards.

I'm really looking foward to this movie. And i see nothing but good things happening. It's gonna shatter box office records, i just feel it..

No, i know it. Despite the leak.

I don't understand how people can claim that this was a "good" movie, when it's actually awful by most accounts.

I don't see how anyone could say this movie was any good.

People can say that because they are entitled to their own opinion, are they not? I for one really enjoyed the movie and won't let nay-sayers spoil it for me. You don't like it? Fine .. your opinion. But don't bash mine just because we don't agree. And don't tell me what I must/should/can't/couldn't possibly think, say or feel.

He actually didn't bash your opinion or anyone else, nor did he tell you what to do in any way, he just stated his own opinion.

Has anyone seen the workprint and the Theatrical release, were there major differences?

*pats* thanks for getting involved. 😉

I already quoted what I was refering to in my answer, and I'll quote it nicely for you again:

Would be nice if they were less snide about it, is all I was saying. *shrugs*

You're welcome.

Yea, I read what you were referring to.

That sheds light on Deadpool's circumstances
in a good way....

Dunno if this true or not.

There is a scene, but I am not sure what

There are 3-4 30 second scenes...depending on which version your cinema got.

I was wondering the same, haven't seen the workprint I know there wasn't any CGI though.

They said there was 15 minutes added to the movie through re-shoots not sure how true that is. The only difference I can find are the CGI and the different scenes after the credits.

saw it just a while ago. Loved it, hated what they did to

Spoiler:
Deadpool (they should have let it at Weapon XI)
, but other than that, the movie is pretty ok, on par with X-2 I'd dare say.

not comparing any character to their comic-book counterparts: Liev Shriever is very good as Victor Creed, Gambit was nice to see, and a little more time with Wade would've been nice (I don't understand how they're planning a Deadpool movie) and Hugh Jackman is great as Wolverine (as always), the rest of the cast is serviceable

Loved

Spoiler:
Xavier's cameo at the end, rescuing the kids
and the young Ororo (at least in the trailers it looks like her) was cut from the movie...

didn't know about multiple teasers at the end, but the ones I saw (if there is anymore) were the one with Striker, and then after the credits, Wolverine

Spoiler:
drinking in Japan
nothing to get excited, really.

Here the thing, don't compare it to the comics. It not the 616 world, it a seperate reality. It not made by marvel, it made by fox. If you view it for what it is instead of comparing it to the comics, you would have likely enjoy it.

AMEN!

It made by fox what did you aspect? I never got how people can complain how charactes are not accurate to there comic selfs, when it made by a different company. How did you not see that coming. You hold it to standard of characters in comic and you will be disapointed, if you take it for what it was not so much. It a seperate reality (no for real it is a sperate reality, for get what number)

Now, as for 'hidden' endings - I won't spoil anything for anyone here but .. there are 2 (!) additional blurbs that you can catch if you don't run out of the theater first light on. The first blurb comes a few stills into the credits and involves Stryker. The second blurb you have to wait through the complete credit run-down for (yup, booooooring .. I hate it when they make me wait that long 😛) and it involves Wolverine one last time.

So .. stay seated if you can focus through all the names and names and .. more names 😛

Will do.

I'll have to admit that scene threw me off when I saw it. I didn't see that coming at all. They did a really good job of keeping it secret. If the movie hadn't been as bad as it was that might have saved it at the end.

I'm definitely co-signing on battlehammer's words.

Today's the day. ( lol, i sound like am about to get married to my H.S. sweetheart)

I do wanna see it today but it's gonna be packed @ AMC downtown today with people going to see the movie so i almost wanna just wait till tommorow as already planned. Cause the tickets are most likely sold out.

I'm going with a couple of my cousins.

I'll preface this statement by saying I haven't seen Wolverine, and am speaking of comic book movies in general.

You have the right idea. I too like to think of comic book movies as a different reality or Universe similiar to Ultimate Marvel. Furthermore, I think most people have the same mindset as evidenced with Batman and Ironman which weren't exactly perfectly true to the comics either, but most people seem to really enjoy both movies. However, if FOX is going to use the name Wolverine they do have some responsibility to stay true to the comic. Otherwise, they need to call it something else, and not run that litttle Marvel montage they do before every movie. My problem with Fox is they almost ALWAYS (save X-Men 2 which Brian Singer had to fight for) sacrifice depth and screen time for more showings which equals more money. They love to handcuff directors, sabotage scripts, and chop up editing in order to shorten a movie. IMO, FOX has no regard for quality instead opting only for quantity, and that really bugs me.

That being said, I will going into Wolverine with an open mind despite what anyone has said. Hopefully, FOX can get it right this time, at least for me...lol

i saw the leaked and was highly ashamed of this horrible bastard son of a movie

ok im not sure how to do spolier tags because i have never attempted to do so but i have a major question about the movie but do not want to spoil anything for anyone who has yet to see it...

Don't recall ****ing comparing it to the comics either, I recall calling it by what it was, an aboslute shit movie. Characters were off as in, not off compared to the comics, but off as in awfully portrayed by their actors.

The Blob was supposedly full of rage and anger, so angry and paranoid that he imagined wolverine calling him fat. Then he was stupid and calm 5 seconds later. I didn't believe whoever was portraying Silver Fox, and Deadpool just wasn't funny. The plot was far too rushed and the movie failed to establish a proper connection between Sabretooth and Wolverine.

They also COMPLETELY botched the Weapon X experience, failing to recreate the intimidating look it had in 1 and 2. Wolverine's experience went from being something frightening and gruesome, to routine surgery.
