While that is a point, it is often, in such situations, less the real homosexuality. More a bisexual expression dependant on periceived necessity. Certainly with the Spartans and the nature of their relationship with their wives and state and also with prisons and single sex boarding schools.

Exactly. One's body tends to make due with what is has. If there's no guys around and you're a heterosexual woman, the brain'll make some changes to compensate.

Let's not jump the gun. According to many studies, a much larger percentage of the male population has had homosexual encounters than they would ever admit in public.
