I think that it is absolutely ridiculous to presume that any homosexual has had a choice in the matter. Why on Earth would anyone willingly embrace a lifestyle that lends itself to ostracization, ridicule, and discrimination? (This, of course, is in a different context than religion.) Why on Earth would anyone choose to be attracted to someone of the same sex when the opposite sex would do just as well?
I'm sure we've all heard of stories about gay teenagers who were thrown out of their houses when they came out--why would anyone choose that?
Supposing that homosexuality was, in fact, a choice, it would certainly be some unconscious choice that involved some form of deep emotional/psychological trauma--thus, not really a choice at all. (The mind would "choose" not to be attracted to the opposite sex, but the individual would have no actual say in the matter.) And what about all the homosexuals who haven't suffered some form of deep emotional/psychological trauma?
I believe that, in some cases, trauma could be the cause of homosexuality. Stranger things have happened. But that would be a rare case, the majority of homosexuals being gay due to genetic alteration (or hormonal imbalance in the womb or whatever other theories are out there, though I'm partial to genetics myself).
I LOVE YOU FECEMAN !
You have finally shown enlightenment on the subject (atleast to me) and I commend you for that 👆
You understand completely...now if only other people can open thier eyes, and use logic the way you just did.

The stereo types don't make them self’s up
In nature a naked woman shouldn't turn a man on, but thought our society we associate a naked woman with sex. You can associate a naked man with sex and become attracted to men just as easily. Sexuality can be altered by conditioning. A good example of that conditioning would be a venerator. Women who use a venerator often will associate the sound of the venerator with clitoral stimulation so when they hear the vibrations they will become aroused with even using it, but women who don’t use a venerator will feel nothing.
So if I truly wanted to I could become gay it would be hard now that I have already conditioned my self to be strait but it could be done. And if as a youngster I was conditioned to be gay I could condition myself to be strait.
This is what I was told in psychology and sociology, and some of it from personal experience. I can’t elaborate it any better because I have a meeting to go to but there is substantial evidence that it is a conditioned decision not genetic you can google it if you feel like it.
Bro..... 😬
Do you have ANY idea what the f*ck you're talking about ?
You are pretty much wrong about every single point you tried to make ^
my cousin tried hard to be the good son, the heterosexual husband, but in the end he went homosexual. he was a missionary in guatamela, and apparently something happened there he will not discuss.
ever considered that it might be due to a life changing event? like when someone is rescued and they fall in love with their rescuer?

Finally? I've been saying that since prior to this thread hitting the 100 page mark.
Indeed, that's why we've always gotten along.

I think not. He didn't "went" homosexual. He just stopped fighting it. You allude to this by saying he "tried to be the good son and husband". If he was not gay to begin with, he wouldn't have "tried to be the good son and husband", he would have just been a good son and husband. (beyond the fact that you can be gay as well as being a good son and husband) This mysterious incident in Guatemala was likely the reason he stopped fighting it. As for changing your sexual preference because you were rescued by someone of the same sex, I don't think I've ever heard of that . If you're rescued by someone who fulfilled all of your notions of a knight in shinning armour, then I can see it. But just because you get pulled from a burning car by a handsome fireman doing his job doesn't mean your going to "went" gay because of it.

First: Punctuation is your friend.
Second: Your position that sexuality is a learned behavior is silly and has been soundly put to rest by the last 100 pages of this debate. While you're making these assumptions, would you like to enlighten us to some examples from your well-conditioned past that will illustrate your technique for making yourself straight?
http://allpsych.com/journal/homosexuality.html
It a long article so if you want to just read the last paragraph it stats the conclusion if sexuality is nature or nurture is inconclusive
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Femininity
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Masculinity
These two links are for the people who don’t believe there are feminine genes and masculine gene, the idea of feminine and masculine genes are shown it the first article as well
It’s a matter of belief and I believe that some people can choose there sexuality, some people are raised to be gay, and some people are born gay, some peoples sexual preference may change throughout there lives But only thing that is certain is that no one is certain and if you are your wrong

And expound on your belief for us. Cite examples of how you conditioned yourself to be straight. And if you are now going to say that it's a matter of being taught to be gay, then provide us some examples from your much lauded personal experience that would illuminate all of us who are straight how they were conditioned to be so.

I didn't condition myself to be straight my surroundings conditioned me to be strait. I'm not able to explain it well enough to be understandable and I don't have enough time right now gota work.

There are no such things as "masculine" genes and "feminine" genes. There are ONLY SEX Genes.....among physical traits, personality, etc.
Masculinity and Feminism are social constructs which we created. No one is "born" masculine or feminine, that's a ton of bullshit. You are TAUGHT to act a certain way the way you are raised, and through the people who surround you.
Not ALL Gay Men are flamboyant....in fact, the MAJORITY aren't...can you please get that stereotype belief out of your head ?
Gay Men who act flamboyant do so because of exposure to other men who act that way...we see the stereotype on television all the time. The same way all our little "wanksta" teenagers try to act "ghetto" because of influence from Rap and Hip Hop culture, the same goes for many Gay men who only feel welcomed through "Gay culture"
I'm Bi, but im more "gay" than "straight"..that's for sure. However, i do NOT act feminine at all. Most people who meet me always assume im straight. My personality was developed by my upbrinings and my influences. I NEVER had a gay role model, i never hung around more women than men, i was never exposed to "Gay Culture" at an early age, so i never adapted that personality.
Others HAVE...acting feminine is NOT in thier genes, it is the way they develop over time.

Your fears are generated thought conditioning. I am afraid of clowns because when I was 8 I watched IT the clown and ever since then I have been terrified of clowns. I made the choice to watch it there for I created my own fear. I'm used to be afraid of heights but I conditioned my self by cliff jumping and climbing ladder to no longer have that fear, it is hard to break a feat but possible.

if you're so certain in your "belief", you'd have to have some example to cite.

Please do tell, what/which "life changing event" could make you turn gay? Because, if your cousin the "good son", husband, father and missionary was able to succumb ("went"😉 to homosexuality, then any man could under certain "life changing events"...
Here's my take on the story... he was born gay, suppressed it all his life like many gay men do (especially religious gay men) out of fear/shame due to the negative stereotype that goes with homosexuality in most parts of the world. He married, had kids etc. all in a vain attempt to keep his true feelings suppressed and then one day he just couldn't take it anymore and he just had to be the person he was born to be. End Story.

You chose to watch it, you didn't choose to be AFRAID of it.....
Your fear was a natural reaction, and beyond your control. I've seen it, and Clowns don't scare me at all. Did I choose not to be scared ?
