Homosexuality: Chosen or Genetic?

Started by finti324 pages

its like that being gay is threaded as a disease, get real folks. It aint chosen nor is it genetic. People cant help who they are attracted too or fall in love with, being gay is just a matter of life, some happens to be gay thats it, the issue of gay couples raising kids aint equal to those kids being brought up to be gay. Just like straight couples gay couples want the best for their kids, regardless what sexual preferences the offspring's choose

i know a couple that raised a straight child. well, the guy i know was divorced when the kid was 12, then hooked up with his life partner. so they raised him from 12 to 18.

...excuse me, but I have to ask. Point?

No, it still has no application to anything, most of all not that post.

was the poster not implying that they have never seen a gay couple raising a gay kid?
i know the kid i mentioned was straight, but its an example of a gay couple raising a child. even if he was already 12.

Yeah, but I mean..that's..I mean...what has that to do with anything. he didn't deny that Gay couples can raise children.

he said that he had never seen a gay couple raising a gay child. i was just commenting on his post.
like if we were talking in a thread called "whats your dream car", and you said ford mustang, i could comment that i agreed or that i thought ford was crap. i could even say "my dad has a ford explorer."

..but. I mean...you just shared some anecdote that has no connection to what is going on. What were you trying to say. To use the words of the Grimm Brothers...what's the moral of the story?

no moral, just an observation. why are you so obsessed with the post? i see people here all day posting irrelevant BS and you dont question them.

Well, this one struck me as one of the most ridiculous I have read all day. Just, because I couldn't follow the reasoning. It wasn't stupid per se. Just, weird to me.

He was implying that it has to be chosen because gay couple don't raise gay children. Therefore, he's saying that its not genetic..

There are three flaws with this argument.
1. It assumes that homosexulaity is a cause of one trait.
2. It assumes that if both parents express a trait, the child will.
3. It assumes that homosexual couples can have children that are biologically thiers.

Basically, he knows shit about genetics.
