then imho you personificate animals too much. they are simple creatures which have a simple drive to ****. sure, females in nature are more attractive to males given pheromones and other means of enticement, but that is inconsequential to the animal's drive.
animals do not need to acknowledge their instict to reproduce. its not necessarily their own conclusion, but rather nature's. an animal wants to get off, and god/mother nature/whatever conveniently set it all up so that an animal's greatest drive to get off would be exactly what it takes it reproduce.
so why should the lion have to ponder this?
