Since it's safe to assume that the rest of the crew will be receiving some sort of power-up or upgrade, is anybody else wondering if Luffy will be getting one too?...

Luffy may be a beast, but the war in Marineford showcased just how powerful the big guns in OP are. With the setting shifting to the New World, where 100mil bounties are common, Luffy better step his game up...

While he hasn't gone into the New World yet, Law strikes me as a fairly sure thing for the 'strong' category, with his lowish bounty a result of being less dive-ahead than Kid or Luffy, and not a traitor to the marines like Drake.

But with a new strong crew like Bart, he's likely to go far.

I'm not, I'm pretty certain of it 🙂 591 struck me as Rayleigh making an offer to train Luffy, and there is the matter that everyone took Luffy's message to mean that they had time to train, thus implying he's taking time for something too.

Awesome. Lol, I was thinking of some type of gear 4, but when you mentioned Rayleigh, I suddenly remembered Luffy's haki. That will mos def be a tremendous asset in the New World...

Yea, definitely. Logia have been his big weakness so far.

Robin and Brook strike me as the two hardest to think of what precisely their upgrades are going to be. Obviously Robin's training with a badass group so it's going to be something, but what?

Brooke be practicing his anglez yo.

But seriously, it looks to me that he is training himself physically, doing dem angles will improve his physical strength (I am pretty sure it was said Brooke can train his strength) and allow him to support his own body better, likely allowing greater speedz, which is where he excels.

As for Robin, stuff, things, and stuff.

Also, anyone think Zoro might actually get trained by Mihawk? That would be pretty leet.

That one I'm unsure of, their rival status might affect it. He might simply train against the military apes until he can handle them.

Just started reading it, I'm on volume 6

It gets cooler 🙂

Just watched the latest episode and the war is looking awesome, it also seems fitting that Akainu's VA is the same as that of Kenpachi's...

That's cool. I already think it's great. Monkey D is a great character. I hope he meets up with Shanks soon 😛

Yea, it starts good, but it gets *better* 🙂

Though he doesn't meet up with Shanks again for quite awhile. They have their own journeys.

ok I have one question from the manga,

Spoiler:
What is tattooed on Luffy's arm? It shows up when he is giving that prayer after ringing the bell. I can't figure it out

I believe it's four letters, but I don't think the characters are shown enough to make out.

I hope they show us soon, it is obviously something significant.

volume 8.

well, i ask, and they deliver. this latest chapter says what was on his arm

FOUR WEEK BREAK!? oh well, hopefully they don't show the whole training process for all of them, I'm really only interested in Zoro and Lufy's training, sanji a little, but not with the shemales. Zoro would be interesting to see, for obvious reasons, also zoro is just my favorite character in the series, lufy is just going to get crazy epic, and i want to see how that happens.

but it would be ok to skip the whole thing for all of them, and just see how much better they are after.

🙁

i can't believe it has taken me this long to get into one piece. I started it like a month ago. and now it is my favorite between the big 3.

Last chapter pretty much answered every hanging question on Haki too.
