No, it was far from crappy.
No one on the X-men moves fast enough to be able to hit Spiderman. Colossus and Rogue most specifically. He's a better hand to hand fighter than anyone except Wolverine and Wolverine is probably THE most likely X-men to lunge or leap in order to hit their opponent. Storm and Cyclops powers were kinda negated because if they used an optic blast or a lightning bolt they could have hit one of their teammates.
It's one of the many instances where Spidey has shown that more opponents doesn't necessarily help the situation.

Wasp humiliating the X-Men
Batman beating Hulk
Captain America being too fast for Spider-ManI never understood why the Spider-Man vs Firelord fight is "banned" ? Like Firelord is such a powerhouse, he's just a second rate herald, a lousy fighter too and not half as tough as most people think he is.
And it is NOT the only powerhouse Spider-Man defeated with his bare hands...
True that, Firelord is a joke of a herald.
If it was Nova, Terrax, Morg, or Silver Surfer...then Spiderman would have been killed instantly.
Personally, I find Johnny Storm more of a firelord than THE Firelord.
actually, Firelord is NOT just a powerhouse. he's not the toughest of
Galactus's heralds, but still a herald. meaning he can travel through
space at light-speeds unprotected. spiderman SHOULD NOT be able
to just knock him out.
other good examples of PIS:
Wolverine taking 2 punches from Namor and not falling/flying.
Thing going down on hands/knees after ONE shot from Wolverine.
Non-superpowered villians taking a punch from Spidey and remaining conscious.
Punisher lasting more than a minute against Wolverine.
Daredevil beating Black Panther.
Wolverine getting hit by Hulk and remaining conscious.
Wolverine beating Hercules.
Ultimate Ironman scanning entire X-Mansion than getting hit by
surprise by an Utlimate Colossus standing in the dark.
off the top my head....

Thank you.I figured that if you'd type it again you'd see the flaw in your logic. Spiderman didn't beat Firelord, he beat some PIS version of him.
The character's name was...FIRELORD. The Power Cosmic was allegedly dormant. Allegedly. And that is MY interpretation of the difference between the two characters.
It was still...FIRELORD. No flaw in logic in referencing a COMIC book.
>>>meaning he can travel throughspace at light-speeds unprotected.
What does Firelord travelling through hyperspace have to do with him supposedly being unable to be knocked out? That's "hee-hawable."
Where does it say that Firelord is invulnerable? Anyone? Show us. He tried to take Spidey in h2h. He usually hovers above an opponent and ZORCHES him. What is difficult to believe? Is it the "Firelord" name? Spiderman hit him over and over and OVER and OVER and OVER again, and was fighting for his LIFE. He was not holding back.
And actually kgkg, who-kid was saying that Firelord's losing to Spidey is CREDIBLE, not the opposite.
Actually, outside of the "Spidey-Firelord" incident, the only person
i've seen beat Firelord one-on-one was Thor....after a long and tough battle. His powers are NOT based on fire (like Human Torch).
His body is like a miniature star. He can project/manipulate energy
from the entire electro-magnetic spectrum. Just like a star.
He's freakin' powerful. nuff said.
"Although Firelord still possesses a solid physical body, he is virtually impervious to most forms of physical harm. His body automatically incinerates any projectile before it reaches the surface of his "skin." He is immune to disease, aging, and muscle fatigue. He no longer needs to eat since his body takes its nourishment from the carbon-carbon cycle of solar fusion. He no longer needs to breathe air and hence can exist indefinitely in the hard vacuum of space. Firelord's major limitation is
that his brain, still organic in perceptions and function, needs occasional
leep to resuscitate itself. A severe concussion to his body can cause
temporary unconsciousness, but it would take radical molecular
dispersal to kill him."
The whole story was actually pretty descent...it lasted two issues...Amazine 269/270 I believe...still...Firelord really shouldn't have had that hard of a time with SM...There are a number of ways he could have killed him..and he is definately quick enough to have tagged Spidey With a blast from his BO staff...one full power blast would have taken out SM..
Anyway within the context of this debate..this particular issue should be used..especially if others get to use similar comic references/logic such as the infamous....
Cap breaking the Hulk's Hold....
Cap defeating the Scorpion with ease...lol...
Cap being able to stratagize his way out of near every damb situation...
Wolverine being able to withstand blows from the Hulk...
Wolverine surviving after being thrown into the sun...
Oh and let us not forget DD taking out Sabretooth with two strikes...
Come on now fellas...SM beating Firelord is just as believable as any of these "historical" moments in comic book history...
And based on the logic I've heard thus far in this thread..it would prove his superiority over Cap/Wolvie/DD..
Oh yeah and I'm still waiting for someone to come up with a plausible/logical scenario as to how Cap/DD/Wolvie will defeat Firelord(without having them obtain the IG or ultimate nullifier)

I agree completely and the DareDevil vs. Spider-man thread dragged on too. You people have to see that every time DD and spidey get into a fight its either a draw, DD wins, or the police ruin it so how can this fight have Spidey win unless all three are injured and not fighting at their best. I can see a better thread being Spider-man, Venom and Carnage vs. The Uncanny X-Men with Captain America.

actually spidey and cap have had a bit of a spat as well, ending when cap floored spiderman with a right hand punch and spidey not landing a single blow. hmmmmmmmmmmm yeah spidey would definitely take this. lol.
Spidey wins.

It's not silly, it's comic books. And while using people that a character has defeated is good in my opinion, they could have just as easily written Cap beating Firelord the way it was written.
Your argument? Comic books. And the worse part is that yours as well as other's arguments have proven inconcistent more than once. But, hey? Facts are a thing of the past anyway right? Right. Cap. can have his hand used as a wrecking ball, I could maul an elephant and rhino at the same time in a standing fight while performing standup and downing three kegs full o' whiskey.

None of the ridicules feats listed for Cap, DD or Wolverine are even close to Spider-man beating Firelord. I would believe DD droping Hulk with a single throat chop before believe Spidy could beat Firelord.
That's saying nothing to how far ahead Hulk is physically to DD when stacking their stats side by side.
