Actually, all you have to do (this is my little secret technique):

Determine which two actions will cause a "negative" reaction (a loss in points.) Make sure you choose them when the smallest portion-thing is on them (therefore, resulting in the least amount of points taken away). Then, all you have left is points to gain!

If you're smart about it, you'll be able to get the smallest portion on both negative reactions, and then only gain points from there.

Worked for me; now, I'm a master speechcraftsmen, and have loads of gold to boot. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Speechcraft doesn't suck, it's Security that sucks... with the new lockpick system, it's the most useless skill on the list

I dont want gold cuz I cant buy the stuff I want, I have to find it ๐Ÿ˜

And I dunno what I should spend all my money on

i know a trick for unlimited money, provided you don't have the patch for it

Tell us more ๐Ÿ˜

go to the Talos Plaza District in the Imperial City, and go to Dorian's house... bribe him as much as possible, but try not to max out his disposition, which you should try to get down below 20 points, just to be safe. after you've bribed him and pissed him off, close off any exits and slaughter him. after you've killed him, search his body, and take everything BUT his gold. then, leave the search menu, then search him again and take the gold. the gold won't disappear, and you can keep taking the gold over and over and over... make sure to stock up on millions, since his body will disappear after a while

edit: i did this with the xbox360 version, i'm not sure how it will hold up on the PC version

Ah, read that one before ๐Ÿ˜‚

Havent tried it yet though

Alright, this is really weird..

I was getting bored of my old character on Oblivion so I decided to start over and make a warrior. After I saved the game, I signed off and came back on a couple of hours later. I went into "load game" but the only thing that came up was the saves from my old character... and after that I went into "Continue" but it continued from the last save on my old character. WTF? Where did my warrior go? ๐Ÿ™

Why ruin it like that? Cheats like this never really made sense to me. Especially with something as epic as Oblivion, working for my treasure is infinitely more rewarding.

It's entirely different if you figure out something on your own (I did this with Daggerfall to get filthy rich very quickly). You still have the sense of accomplishment and/or ingenuity, rather than doing nothing except a google search for "oblivion cheats" or something similar.

But I have the main patch, and also a Mod that tweaks the entire economy system...so it probably wouldn't work even if I wanted it to.

...

Oh, and the Daggerfall get-rich-quick scheme involved stealing a bunch of horses and carts, but I forget the details of it.

This game is sooo fun. Most fun I've had since God of War.

Also, the inside the Oblivion Gates remind me of God of War, that one level when your in hell.

So far, I'm at the part where you get the Mythic Dawn books, and Taer-Mena tells you what the secret message is.

i figured out how to read the message before i even got the 4th book

Still waiting for the price to drop on this game... I have a feeling I'll be waiting for a long time.

You probably signed onto a different profile and then went into the game. Go to the dashboard and go into hardware, then memory. Find Oblivion and check all of your saved games... the old one was probably saved under one of your profiles, and the new one was under a different one.

Anyone here beat the main quest yet?

Because I heard it is better if you DON'T level up, until you beat the main quest. I heard that if you are at level 30 or above, some of the quests are nearly impossible because your Enemies gain levels along with you, but the people that help you do not. So you basically have to kill everybody by yourself because the people that help you die easily.

I beat teh main quest, I think I was around lvl 17 or 18 by the end. Didn't have a problem with it.

Keep in mind, if you are having a problem there is a difficulty meter that you can change.

Yeah I know that.

I'm not far at all, I was just wondering.

I do need help with one thing though. The Mages guild quests, I have to ask the guy(Name begins with V) for this girls Mage Staff back. They gave me Charm Scrolls to use on the V guy, but it's not working. He keeps saying "I'm sorry friend, I really like you, but I'm not willing to part with the Mages Staff." What do I do?

Try bribing him.

Anyone who is having trouble for leveling reasons, just download the already-cool petshop mod. Your animal levels with you, and currently my panther Guenwyvar is the only reason I was able to get past the first Oblivion gate in Kvatch (I'm running the Obscuros mod, so not everything is scaled to my character, thus making certain parts wicked tough).

Those are the best moments...I care for and help my once-weak pet along, and now she's doing nearly as much in battle as I am. It's really an awesome feeling of cameraderie, and seeing her mow down some dude from behind that's giving me trouble, or run down an annoying evil mage, is one of the coolest things I've experienced in a while in a game.

I have the 360 version.
