okay i need some help with a quest, its not so much in what i need to do but where to find some spells.

im on vahtacen's secret for the mages guild and im at the part where you have to solve the puzzle with the pillar. i know what to do and everything (shoot fire, frost, fortify magicka, damage magicka at it) but i dont know where to find the damage magicka spell. another thing is the fortify magicka spell that i created isnt working, i made a target spell for fortifying magicka so i could shoot it at the pillar but the pillar isnt accepting it.

i dont know what to do and any help would be greatly appreciated.

nevermind, i figured it out.

id recommend leveling archery, your sword, and magic because magic alone isnt really that effective until your a master at it.

for the story id recommend doing the guilds, that'll get you around the map and get you experience and money as well. the best way to make money is selling weapons and armor so every time your inventory is full go to a shop and sell them. theres shops in every town and tehres usually a few different ones.

id also highly recommend buying spells at all the mage guilds you go to, the ease burden spells are a lifesaver (they're under the school of alteration). i can get my burden up to 750 pounds with all the spells i have which saves me having to drop pretty much anything.

Well I'm in an Oblivion Gate, so I can't really drop everything ahora mismo can I? ermm

Also I haven't come across any towns yet. By following the story, no towns have been introduced, besides the one that burned down...so yeah......

I'll have to wait until I finish this Oblivion Gate, if I ever do. (Haven't [played since that faithful day)

Then if I finish the gate, I can go off and do my own thing and look for towns and guilds......................wherever they are. ๐Ÿ˜•

Break into a few shops in the Imperial city market district, theres an armor shop, weapons shop, spell shop etc. Everyone goes to sleep at night, just avoid the guards and break in.

No towns, Inner? Oo;

What about the Imperial City? Heck, the only road off that island takes you directly into Weye. And Chorrol is in plain sight of Weynon Priory. And Skingrad is on the road to Kvatch.

If you haven't entered any towns yet, you're missing out on the meat of what makes Oblivion a good game. You need more sidequests, and to join a guild.

To be honest at first your have to go to Kavach (I think thats how you spell it), because the game forces your to. Once you have taken the new king to a safe place up at the Blades place you can finally do what ever you want. I would start by joining a guild and moving on from there.

I played a good 20 hours at the least before getting anywhere near Kvatch. Heck, I went to Leyawiin and Topal Bay before Kvatch. The thing about Oblivion is it doesn't force you to go anywhere. If you're following the quest, then of course, but you could just forget all about helping the world and just wander Cyrodiil freely.

The King died in the Sewer. ermm

I'll take you all's advice.

I'll either start from an earlier save before I entered Oblivion.
Or I'll just start at my save in Oblivion and get out if I can. (Doubt I can though)
And then I'll look for some towns/cities. Imperial City heh?
I guess then I'll have to wait until night...fear and then steal some goods. faint

So far my sneaking hasn't been good so may god be with me. I see death in my midst.

Well you don't HAVE to be a thief. You could do honest business in the daytime too, you know.

It's risky picking locks in the Imperial City, too, because the soldiers actively patrol. If you're inside a building too long after breaking in, too, there's a possibility guards will come in and find you.

Not really, the ONLY thing u have to do first is to get out of the sewer. From then on you can do whatever u want. I personally wanted to let the quests I got decide where I was going, so it took me about 30 hours before reaching Kvatch the first time.

So they have work for me to do in this world to get money........... A JOB.......................

Do you know who it is that you are typing to? ๐Ÿ˜

I'll have none of that. mhm

Nah, I'm just playing.

But being able to just go in and steal all the stuff that you want, and the expensive stuff at that, does sound intriguing.

This game is real serious on stealing too.

I was in that Monk Facility where you find Jaeffrey. (Can't remember his name well)

And if you just put your cursor over and item, the option says "Steal". I was like man.

So I saved the game, and then came back and decided to see what would happen. Sure enough, this monk that was all the way in the back reading his book shouted something about me being a theif and to drop it and said I won't get away with it and then he got up and started coming toward me.

I swear I thought he was going to whip my sweet @$$. I just stood there like a fish out of water. But he quickly came to his sense I guess and walked back to his girly book.

I also quickly dropped the item before it get to me..............maybe that was it. ๐Ÿ˜•

This game is too much.

I swear, this game gets to me even more than Gears of War.

It'll be interesting to see what else will happen in this game.

Yes I do know this. YOu just said KING. So I assumed, which i can only do, that you were referring to the one that died. Not the PRINCE.

No you dont have to assume because I said "once you find the new king" and he was never a prince because he was secretly given away. You just dont take the time to read carefully.

Thats what happens when you decide to spoil yourself before actually playing or watching a movie.

Ummmmmmmm.......nothing has been spoiled for me. I have played the game.

If you'd read carefully enough you would have know this.

And what's up with this spoil yourself crap about games and movies? ๐Ÿ˜

Whatever it is. Get over it.

ok

Holy shit, check out this mod, adds some ruins and stuff to explore, but its all sci-fi with future weapons and armor...shock droolio

Badass!

thats what im missing, ive been staring at this glass armor goin on about 40 hours now. i need a change.

So the thing that has kept me from playing this game for the past, I'd say, 2 days or so is b/c I'm doing the whole "Find out where that guy is getting his cheap good from in the Imperial City".

So I'm to the part where I have to wait for the guy that he was talking to to leave his house that I can sneak in and find some stuff out.

Well, who wants to turn a game on and just stand there and wait for how knows how long for him to come out of his house. That's annoying.

I have no idea when he comes out, so what if I leave and go and do other things and miss my chance. Its' frustrating.

So I also have this other thing that I plan on doing later, where this Arena player asked me to find proof of his birth right all the way to the WEST.

When I checked on the map and saw how far it wanted me to go, I was like. F**K!!!

That's ridiculous.

Plus, I don't even know if I can handle what's over there, so I've basically set that aside and not really giving a sh!t.

I'd planned on moving to other towns after this one and just exploring around, but then I got that quest to go all the way to the WEST out of my own way. Ummm....."ISH DON'T THINK SO". nono

So yeah..........

And I've been hearing about a Fighters Guild somewhere in town but haven't come across it yet at all.

And it's the only one I've been hearing about and I wanted to join the Mages Guild.

I am in mage by the way, so would it be bad for me to join the Fighters Guild............IF I EVER FIND THE DARN THING?!?!

Has anybody participated in the Arena at all? In what way?

Any suggestions on the whole waiting for the guy to leave so I can sneak in situation?

By the way, Usually when you come across a book or such, you can read it before it gives you the option to take/steal it.

So I come across this scroll in a shop and I just intend to read it, but there's no read option, just goes straight to steal.

SO I hit the button too fast and I accidentally stole it.

Freaks the hell out of me when they yell at you.

So I immediately dropped it, thinking everything was ok and I walk out and who greets me but a d@mn guard.

I decide to fight him and I lose.

So yeah.................annoying and scary.

How about I stop using the word scary and use "NERVOUS" instead. That's sounds about right.

This game is nerve wrecking.

As I said before, those CPU's are just so d@mn intimidating to me.

So yeah...............

Also, I suck at picking locks. Have no idea how to do those locks that have like 3 things to push up and they fall back down immediately.

I have no money so I can't buy anything or take those Training courses such as the one for picking Locks.

I've done nothing to get money in this game and have no idea what to do to get money?

Go out and find some random place full of creatures or whatever and get myself killed?

Ugh.........

So yeah.......when I first tried picking the guys lock that I waiting to leave, I made sure no guards were in my close vicinity.

I expected that if I were to get caught by a guard in the act it would occur as soon as I chose the option to pick his locks. So I try a number of times to pick the lock and then I just give up, as soon as I'm stop and turn around, there's this guard in my face.

How the he!! did see me from whereever the he!! he was.

Freaked me the he!! out once again.

It didn't help that some noisy @$$ random bystander jumped in the fight with the guard and ripped me a new hole.

This game is just impossible.

๐Ÿ˜

anata wa wakarimasu ka.....

Good thing about lock picks:

1.) You can easily buy them from a shady guy around the imperial city's walls.
2.) They're cheap so you can buy lots of them.
3.) The X button. ๐Ÿ˜
