Orlando Bloom wouldn't make a convincing Captain America any, it was a joke...

Orlando Bloom can only, and SHOULD only, play effeminate pretty boys. Haha

he's a fair choice

he looks gay.

like he wants to give some ugly dude head.

i hope they don't make thor look like something outta one tree hill or twilight really cause i'm getting sick of the siht.

make him look like a tough fcuker viking norse god with a blonde gotee and scars not someone outta "General Hospital"..

"Thor's" already gonna be hard to pull of why make it harder..

Thor's not going to have f*cking scars - he's a God & his battle scars would heal up quickly. He would look close to perfect always. Only a serious magic-accented attack would leave something permanent, like Odin willingly sacrificing an eye for wisdom.

And what the hell is going on with the release date? I go on vacation for two weeks, and come back to find the date is now June 2011, instead of July 2010?! 😠

I think it is because so they can get a good story and so they can take their time with the CGI effects

I would accept that - except this project was originally slated for 2009.

By 2007, they had a script ready by Mark Protosevitch, a director in Matthew Vaughn signed up. There was just some budget limitations to discuss by rewriting. Then Vaughn - who's become notoriously skittish with large scale films - was gone by 2008.
Marvel strikes huge gold with IRON MAN in May 2008, and announces release dates for several films within a week; THOR now being aimed for June 2010. They finally get a new director by last fall - Kenneth Branagh - and push the release date back one month to July 2010. And now, just when casting news seems ready to break with Alexander Skarsgard as Thor, it gets pushed back another whole year to May 2011? 😕

When something constantly gets pushed back like this, I get suspicious it's not going to happen. And I worry Kenneth Branagh won't be attached to this much longer. I just hope he's committed and has asked for more pre-production time.
Now, perhaps SPIDER MAN 4 finally getting a release date (May 4 2011) has caused the move around for THOR and CAPTAIN AMERICA, who now arrives in July 2011 instead of May. And maybe it's because Jon Favreau really wants to do THE AVENGERS, but has protested he can't deliver IRON MAN 2 in 2010, then the other film by 2011. So, AVENGERS misses Marvel's 50th anniversary by one year in 2012, but Thor & Cap come out for it. Fine; OK. Let's just make sure they DO come out, and NO MORE CHANGES to the schedule. Please.

i can understand that.. i think another reason may be they are looking at the script for IM2 and seeing how to incorporate Thor perhaps or maybe Marvel is looking to amp up the cgi effects

Josh Hartnett expected to play Loki

I think Hartnett could actually do a decent job as Loki.

I think he will as well

That would work. He played a pretty convincing deceiver in "O".

🤨 Did that make sense?

Looks like things are slowing down on this project. Hope this doesn't lead to bad news.

ReelzChannel recently reported that the amazing director of the upcoming Thor movie, Kennth Branagh, is going to take a little bit longer in his casting for the God of Thunder and his supporting cast.

Hmmmm, Urban did have a decent look as Eomer. Why not?

This is a good thing

Taking longer on finding the right person for Thor is a good thing.

I hope you guys are right. Just don't like to keep hearing about the delays on this project. The release date was already pushed back a year. Like to see them get to work on this.

Branagh is going to have a role, but he's nearly 50 - he shouldn't play Loki, if he wants Thor & loki to look convincing as step brothers. Probably just a rumour.

This project does have to happen, if they want to make an Avengers movie. Thor needs an introduction; he can't just show up when the fighting starts.
