We've been wondering who is going to play Balder...

I finally saw a picture of Matthias Schweighöfer (who's in the cast), currently starring in a movie about the famous Red Baron of WWI. I saw him and thought "Him - he must be Balder!"
Anyone agree?

Anthony Hopkins being cast as Odin has me pumped for this. I can't imagine anyone better being cast in the role.

Found a leaked photo of The Destroyer. Apparently he's a villian in Thor.

I've never been so torn. That's a dead on Destroyer right there but it looks incredibly cheesy in that setting. Hopefully it looks better in the movie.

Can't see anything now - Paramount has pulled the picture.

On another note, Chris Hemsworth has said the costume is staying fairly faithful:

In an interview Hemsworth told Access Hollywood that the film stays true to the comics stating; “I have the hammer... I have a long blond wig and a nice big red cape and all sorts of armor and interesting bits and pieces. There’s so many different versions of the comic books, they’ve sort of bonded quite a few of them to form this particular story, but it’s all very true to the original stuff”.

I like that he's wearing armour, and not that spandex tunic he had for decades.

Except for the look of the armour it looks more like the modern look from the 616 universe.

They took his new look from The Ult version and made it look newer.

I do want to see how he movies in it.
It is his current 616 look so I'm happy; still, the chain-mail looks odd. While it's like the style he wears in the comic, I always thought it was drawn more simply so the artist wouldn't have to draw all those little ringlets. But I'm sure there's an explanation.

yea i saw the pic...im very surprised they are making things look this close to the comic....however the chain-mail looks kinda plastic to me....mybe i didn't look at good enough...i take a second look at it

saw the picture of thor, seems ok, but hopefully more pictures will come out

Considering the amount of secrecy & tight security on the shoot, have to wonder if the picture isn't a well-made fake.
