Besides, can we really say how long it was? Mjolnir could have been sitting in that crater for weeks until SHIELD showed up, and word spread back to the town. It's like trying to guess how long Luke was on Dagobah in The Empire Strikes Back.

Pretty sure it was 2 nights. The night he arrived and was in the hospital, and then the next night when he tried to lift the hammer and went drinking with Skarsgaard.

Yea n not nearly enough time to even begin to learn his lesson IMO.

The movie should have ended with him having recently regaining Mjolnir but still being stranded on Earth.

Btw the scene with Sif n the warriors three arrive as they're eating breakfast. "Found You!" lmao hilarious! 😆

I saw Thor twice, first opening night at 9:30 in Ultraavx 3D with reserved seating, and then again on Saturday night at 10pm in standard 3D. It was a packed sold out show on Friday... on Saturday there was maybe 20 people in the theater. WTF?

I loved the movie, very well put together for something that has quite a silly premise for a super hero. 9 out of 10. but go see it in 2D no need to see this one in 3D!

agreed.. see it in 2d.. no reason to see this in 3d, unless you like paying $6 more just to wear those st00pid glasses and get a headache in the process..

Spoiler:
i felt like they showed hawkeye for the f*ck of it.. like they were showing off DC, or something.. it worked..

Well all those things worked for me.

One mans trash is another mans treasure, I guess.

Spoiler:
So with the Destroyer ummm... destroyed and Loki having his eyes set on the Cosmic Cube, who do you think should be Thor's villian in the rumored sequel? I'm rooting for Surtur.

Enjoyable movie. Looking forward to Avengers.

Information about the items in the vault:

Spoiler:
Confirmed:

Eternal Flame (top, left) - Mystical flame that cannot be extinguished. It was stolen from Surtur by Odin, Vili, and Ve Borson at the dawn of time so that Surtur could not light his sword and bring about Ragnarok.

Infinity Gauntlet (right) - The Infinity Gauntlet was designed to hold six of the 'soul gems', better known as the Infinity Gems. When used in combination their already impressive powers made the wearer nearly invincible.

Warlock's Eye (bottom, center) - A powerful, mystical weapon used unsuccessfully against Odin, Thor and the Warriors Three during an invasion of Asgard.

Twilight Sword (not pictured) - Created by Surtur using the energy of the exploding home galaxy of the Korbinites, it was intended to set the universe afire. Later used as a power source by Loki & Morgan Le Fay.

Rumored:

Orb of Agamotto (top, left center) - A scrying crystal ball used by Doctor Strange for clairvoyance. It has been known to open gateways between dimensions

Tablet of Life & Time (top, right center) - On the tablet was a biochemical formula for a serum, the so-called Lifeline Formula, which could rejuvinate, heal and grant its user the chance to reach the full evolutionary potential of its race turning the user into an immortal near omnipotent being.

Not including the Cosmic Cube, the Casket of Ancient Winters and Mjolnir.
Odin has one hell of an armory.

I agree with the above poster. I'd give Thor a [generous] 7. It could have been a lot better, especially with what I felt was a weak 2nd Act. Also think the conflict was resolved too easily.

I third this.

I'd say it's maybe slightly below Iron Man, or as good as two Mortal Kombats.

Overall, pretty decent for a comic book movie.

Iron Man was better, but Thor was still very good, in my opinion.

Who walks into a room with the IG and goes for the Casket of Ancient Winters?

I saw it yesterday. It was alright, but as some said, I was expecting more from the great reviews i've been reading.

The positives-
- I thought Thor was portrayed well. He was a beast and would would easily handle the movie Hulks in my opinion.

- Asgard looked stunning

- Heimdall was cool

Negatives
- The fight with the Destroyer. That wouldnt happen in a comic.

- Thought the movie was a little slow in the middle.

- Frost giants werent all that giant.

Over all it was good, but I wont be rushing to ever see it again.

As far as I know noone gave the Destroyer and life force in the movie, so it was operating at diminished capacities.

Understood, but Thor has the power to damage it?

Just saw the movie I thought it was pretty good. The characters really drove the movie. I thought the fight with The Destroyer was too short. Loki's portrayal was done nicely because although he was lying most of the time you could see his concern for Odin. Chris Hemsworth's was accurate as Thor. No major problems with the movie and overall good.

I was thinking the same thing. I was like... wait that couldnt have been the Ig... was it?

Well, it is theirs. They know what it can do. They're likely not as knowledgable about the other artifacts. Maybe they would have snatched some others, but the Destroyer appeared very quickly and incinerated them on the spot.

But at the same time, as far as we know the Destroyer was just a really ritzy magic robot with a beam rifle for a face.

Anyone else think SHIELD gathered up the inert Destroyer, and it will reappear in Avengers?
