seriously dark, how much can you sit here and argue about stupid weapons systems, thermo-camoflauge, and the advantages and disadvantages of two EXTREMELY mediocre video game personalities?
in 13 pages no one has been able to lay out a clear cut winner, and much like all the other threads that date before your arrival to KMC, this will be NO CLEAR CUT WINNER. It's all opinion.
Besides, the male vs. female aspect of this fight is very important taking into consideration these two characters.
Oh my god, Nintendo's god-modding her even more. Now she can "corrupt his mind" with a dark beam, and now, a freakin' annihilator beam. The name speaks all; For a truly fair match, ditto everything except screw attack, hi jump, morph ball bombs, and charge wide beam.
Don't tell me that it's not "god-modding", and that "Nintendo's just putting her the way they wanted her to be.", because admit it. She's just way too insanely powerful.
well, if people need to look hundreds of years back in society just to find a suitable excuse for why Samus can beat MC...then they can be my guest.
Sh!t, it doesn't even prove that women were best suited for fighting....they just did the fighting because it was part of their culture and tradition. If a male recieved the same training as females, there's a GREAT chance that the male would have been the most dominant figure in the society.
and I don't consider it God-modding because Samus gets all those new weapons and skills specifically in order to advance in the game, not to be put up against other characters one-on-one.
The Dark Beam does not corrupt anything. All it does is focus the energy of Dark Aether into a tangible form.
The annihilator beam is a bit of a misnomer. It is actually a condensed form of sonic energy. Like how a high-pitched sound can shatter glass, or a low-pitched sound can cause most solid objects to resonate visibly.
Plasma, contrary to what seems to be the popular belief here, is not "super-heated gas." Plasma is condensed energy, condensed so much that it is liquid. This ultra-dense liquid, when it comes in contact with a solid object, reverts to its natural, uncondensed form instantly, causing the violent, heated explosion that can vaporize particles.
And no, there has been no clear cut winner. I seem to remember, though, that Chief came out on top for about two days. Out of all the other days, the number of days of the tie has been only slightly greater than the days in which Samus was ahead. But every time someone was ahead, it was by only one vote, and did not last more than three days.

The vote is nothing but a popularity contest, there are really only 4 or 5 people in here putting up serious discussion while the rest say stuff like
"Samus. Gotta go with the classic" or "MC wins because he's a guy"

lol thats exactly what Ive been seeing for the past 13 pages.. only a few of us who know both characters have been sitting here discussing it. Which is sorta pointletss.. -_-
I know I've been sticking up for Master Chief through most of this, but I DID vote for Samus.
I think she'd win in a fight simply because she keeps getting new abilities, weapons, and various upgrades as newer games are released. Well, that and the slick ball she can tuck into...
But they are two different types of games...even though they are FPS. Metroid Prime is more like a Zelda game in that you have to run around manuevering puzzle-like levels often back tracking as you unlock new areas. Halo is a pretty straight forward, shoot-em-up game where you don't need to fit into tiny spaces or use certain weapons to open doors.
I still think MC is more bad ass, but Samus wins regardless of bad-ass- edness (just HAD to use that word 🙂 )
It's just probably me, but i feel that Samus relies on technology so much...at the beginning of all her adventures she's pretty much helpless compared to chief. but she gains all these abilities as game goes on. kinda cheap against a spartan, in my opinion. which is why i feel that the chief would be more hardcore. Samus is hardcore in the beginning of her games, because she doesnt rely on technology so much.
if the Chief wouldve been 'Godmodded" or watever dark said, it wouldve been dualweilding any weapon in the game. (double fuel rod guns, oh yeah!)
Ok Nintendo has not made Samus god modded simply because if you think about it, the enemies get harder and harder every game. As for the beam weapons, I was incorrect about the Dark Beam it was actually the Phazon Beam that did all the corrupting of the mind. that was my mistake and I am willing to admit that, but you could only use the Phazon Beam on Prime itself.

What are we talking about. We can't actually decide. There are too many variables!
If Samus was in an area with plenty of say vents and such about her size, she could leap up over Master cheif and drop behind him in s ingle fluid "roll".
If they were battling on a ship such as the depicted "Gettysburg" ship in Halo: First Strike, where Master Chief would be at home with ease, know where everything is, Cortana can take over the ships systems to bring the favor to Master Chief such as using Automated systems, etc. We need a defined battlefield, a defined set (I.E. Halo 2 Batlesuit MAster Chief, or Halo 1, or the super-powered Samus from MP1, or the ones from the original Side-Scroller)
