Master Chief vs Samus Aran

So? I'm pretty sure that anyone with a free hand can operate a plasma rifle. Whats your point a human wouldn't be able hit MC because he is too fast.

And there is no such thing as an "everlasting virus." Once the system the virus is attached to switches off, the virus disappears. So if you get a virus on your computer it disappears if turn off the computer? I don't think so, if you get a virus you can't simply reboot to get rid of the problem

Considering that countless explosions, gigantic beasts, and powerful mutants have yet to even scratch Samus' visor, I doubt a little thing like a fist would do it. So you have gone through the whole game without getting killed. If you answer yes then I would think the games are very easy.

So can Samus, with her numerous visors. And she would have better natural night vision anyway, considering that the majority of her missions take place miles below the surfaces of Zebes and SR388. You got a problem then, she can't use two visors at once. So if MC is using stealth in the dark you can't use both can she?

Quite useful indeed, considering that a half-size ball boosting across the ground is much harder to hit than a full-size Samus. Homing Rocket

This is a point how? And if you do actually have a point, Samus' Speed Booster seems a pretty tough speed to beat on foot. Does that speed booster go up to 50kph?

Samus has technology beyond our comprehension, thus her suit might be able to readily combat viral infections on the fly, as Im sure most of her circuitry in the suit is organic.. and switching back and forth between visors was hardly any trouble..
also , can chief roll into a ball? Im pretty sure a speeding sphere would be damn hard to catch. (and yes I'd like to see a homing rocket chase her through a halfpipe.. considering she can use spider ball to psyche it out)
Chief weighs much more than samus Im sure, so I think it would be much much harder for him to build up to his full 50Kph speed boost.
As for her visor getting scratched... it doesnt break (not that ive noticed) until your gauge reaches 0.. that includes subtanks and such.

it doesnt break (not that ive noticed) until your gauge reaches 0.. that includes subtanks and such. I think that is down to the way the game was made. It would just add difficulties to have to program that in, because do you ever see MC suit get dents when he gets shot with a shotgun?

There is no real way to tell who is stronger as there is no measure of the weapons power. As a rocket launcher from Halo could be more powerful in Metroid Prime where as her plasma blast could be stonger in Halo.

So if you get a virus on your computer it disappears if turn off the computer? I don't think so, if you get a virus you can't simply reboot to get rid of the problem It doesn't work like that. When you shut down your computer, a second battery stays on to keep such autonomous things like the calendar and memory correct and up-to-date. Shutting down the second battery that keeps these running erases the virus (along with everything else).

So you have gone through the whole game without getting killed. If you answer yes then I would think the games are very easy. again, you're addressing this wrong. Throughout the entire series, the visor doesn't break. If you die in Prime, it shows a cracked visor for one of two reasons: 1) it gets the points across and looks pretty cool, or 2) when you die, all your energy tanks have been drained, meaning there's no protective energy field. without said energy field, the visor could be a normal piece of glass. Not that it matters; without all the energy, she's dead anyway.

You got a problem then, she can't use two visors at once. So if MC is using stealth in the dark you can't use both can she? how does being stealthy do anything extra if you're in the dark? And Samus still has the echo visor, which pings sound off objects (like a bat's echolocation.)

Homing Rocket no homing program is perfect, and Samus can use power bombs to destroy it.

Does that speed booster go up to 50kph? it actually might. That thing is pretty damn fast.

Well anyway IF there was to be a battle between the two it wouldn't solely depend on weapons. You got to remember in certain situation the human spirit can out weigh any power. Remember in Terminator when they 'oh know we can't stop him!' then they crush him with the machine. (Not human spirit but the will to survive)

As they are both human, don't you think they'd both have human spirit? And I'm pretty sure that the will to survive is a fairly widespread trait.

Well I was trying to say that even though Samus could have powerful weapons doesn't make her the victor. The only way I could think to prove who would win if they actually excisted in real life and faced off againts each other.

Amazing deduction, but if we allowed that, the discussions would end, and where's the fun in that?

And your assumption is flawed. No matter how much spirit you have, if I have a machine, and you have a flintlock pistol, it's all leaving your body.

No offense meant, just an example.

if it's beyond our comprehension, then how do YOU comprehend it?

Can't we all just get along?

Can't we all just get along?

That is the strangest picture ever.
And Chief doesn't have potbelly. Uuugh.

because we only know about the systems of her suit that are explained to us. We do not understand 'how' she morphs into a ball, we only understand that she 'does'.. that is what I mean. I never said I comprehend it.

yes, then so how do you know how powerful or to what effect her weapons or systems would have on the chief?

also, tell me that image is not funny. cause it is.

The implications of that comic are scary beyond all reason...

And as far as the workings of the suit... I've been writing a small paper on that...

Legendary is impossible.
A freakin' GRUNT kills me. a GRUNT with a plasma pistol.
Me: "ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGHHH!"
Graham: "BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"

I've just bought a Gamecube and and Metroid Prime and after seeing what her suit is capable of in the game I say that MC has really got his work cut out for him. Samus' beam weapons are too potent to block espically with the charge beam to power them up. She has a much higher degree of mobility an canreach places MC can't making her an extremly difficult target. She has a much higher resillience to damage as well. I really can't see MC taking this.

See? Experience with both games shows the character's strengths and weaknesses. And Samus has QUITE a few strengths.

Lucky I have both games and knows what powers she has. I was just wondering though, near the start of the way when she encounters the Space Pirates but (trying to remember) they didn't look like they had that much armour on them and I know it takes two rockets to take one of them out.

Plus you mention bosses that would be very hard for MC to destroy but it is even stranger that there is a place for say a morph ball to fit along and plant a bomb to destroy this certain boss. mmmmm is it me or did the developers make it that way.

I would like proof that his suit can change temperature, because I've never heard that.

Found out where I read it from and does apply to this conversation because it is in the manual and thus applies to the game.

yes...yes they are. I will post the follow up to that.
